Zelensky is an Idiot - South Korean Prisoner Ordeal

For those who didn't hear, Zelensky said before the UN that Ukraine captured North Korean soldiers during the war and transferred them to South Korea.
Why would this moron say this in front of the entire world? Is he trying to start war on the Korean peninsula?

South Korea welcomes anyone who can escape NK. Everyone in NK wants to go south. But they're killed when they try.

This. You do understand that all the NK soldiers want to escape correct? The were probably pleading not to be sent home but rather sent to SK so they can have a life. That is Zelensky signaling to surrender and we will send you to SK.

Nobody cares that they sent the prisoners to South Korea where they will undoubtedly live a better life. This thread is about the idiocy it takes for a "leader" to tell the world that they're transferring prisoners from one country to that country's enemy. You understand that, right?

Correct. Geneva says you can’t forcefully return a POW to his home country without consent. SK policy is all NKs are welcome.

No I don't see that. I see it like a said, a public notice to those NK soldiers in the field to lay down your arms. I don't see how it is an idiot move. What does it harm?

Well let me make it more plain for you. If it were harmless, South Korea wouldn't be calling him out for breaking confidentiality over it.

This is a non story really.
Nobody cares.
He was trying to say he's doing a good thing.
Who cares?
This would absolutely not start a war. Over a prisoner?
All Un cares about is maintaining power.
He knows he cant unify the penninsula.
He really cant do anything geopolittically of any value.
He suppresses his people with hunger and and iron fist.
He makes money on the black market in order to survive.

Yeah calculated risk on Z's part, ruffling their feathers a little is much less than thousands of NKs in the field think twice about their fighting future. SK just saving face with a comment.

He’s discussing what is actually happening. Everyone in the world knew about the North Koreans going to Ukraine to fight for Russia. This is no secret. So he deported the Korean POWs to South Korea. So what?
