Dude reminded us what it was like to have an actual QB after we were in a 4 year abyss of Hatch, Lee and Jefferson. While he didn't technically live up to the team expectations that were set for him (no SEC title, bowl win etc.), his stats say he will go down as one of LSU's better QBs.

Glad he was able to get a second chance here and he was truly fun to watch. It just sucks so much that it was an injury that puts the period on his LSU career and not a bowl win.

He may not have won all the games, but that guy for damn sure is going down in LSU history. Haven't seen that kind of heart in our QB in a long time.

I enjoyed watching Mettenberger in the LSU uniform.

He grew to love this team, and I've enjoyed his play. Wish we could have at least gotten him that W at UGA. His defense let him down at times this, and his o-line a couple of times.

Thanks Zach!

Agreed. Kid bled P&G. Would take 1 of him over 2 hooties or robinsons any day!
Thanks METT!

I am here to say I questioned him before the 2012 season:
quote:

Sometimes I feel like Mett doesn't come across as one of those players who is all heart. Maybe it's just because he is laid back. We haven't seen enough to know, but do you think he has the heart/chest of a champion?

He's grown up a bunch the past three seasons and leaves LSU with more heart than anyone could ask for from a player. Great player, great QB, great Tiger.

Geaux Mett, pass all over the NFL.

Mett was great. I do think the o-line owes him an apology especially after the Bama effort

Zach is one tough dude. He's been through so much and here is another obstacle. He'll get through this too. He'll forever be a Tiger and his actions in his final game won't be forgotten. He was a true leader even after he got hurt and supported his backup.

Thank you Mett. You're a badass.

Man, we finally have a great QB and he has to end hi career like this. He was great for us and matured over the years and showed that even if nobody else wanted to play/win, he did.

He might not have lived up to the insanely high rantard standards, but the guy has had two great years here and will go down as one of my favorite Tigers!

The man shows so much heart and grit in every game. Never gives up. Shows so much emotion on the field. You can see that he loves the game and loves LSU.

Wishing him a full recovery and great career in the NFL.

Mett.

Great leader, great QB. Sad he has to go out like this, but we won't forget his play! Forever LSU!
