The kid never played a down for us, he may have been good he may have sucked, who knows. Move on to the next recruit. If Rivers is even close to being as good as his brother was at NC State then we are set for a title run again. This happens. Go Tigers!

Best of Luck to Zachary Paul Lee III. I just hope he wasnt playing us all along. I also hope that Miles realized what type of money is offered to the #25 (?) pick in the MLB draft. I sure hope he knew Lee would not be here.

Pretty nuts he signed for THAT much more than Kershaw did, clearly the Dodgers love him for that kind of money coming out.

at the doom and gloom m'frickers on here. And the idiotic notion that LSU shouldn't go after kids because there's a chance they go pro is so frickin stupid, it's laughable. As a recruiter, you go after the top notch kids. That's how you get a great recruiting class...not by taking middle of the road talent just because you know they won't get drafted. I want my school going after the best athletes out there...period.

eta: And good luck Zach. I would've advised my kid to the do the same thing if he were in your situation.

this is why a head coach needs to tell recruits that you either sign here telling us you will stay or we give your scholarship to someone that will and you can walkon if you decide to stay

good luck and i would not pass up the money either, but If i was coach, i would not have even let the kid practice with us and put on a tiger jersey until he knew for sure he was committed.

he will wish he stayed to get a ring and go on to be a lsu legend and go pro in the nfl but insead hell be some baseball player who, let be honest, we will never hear about.

Bull-fricking-shite. The recommended money for his slot was 1.1 mill and the HIGHEST the Dodgers EVER paid for a draft pick was 2.5 mill. In case you haven't been paying attention, 2.5 mill would've never got Zach Lee to sign. So chances were the kid was gonna be a Tiger. The Dodgers stepped up big time and offered him 5 mill to sign and he took it. In no way, shape or form can you blame Les Miles for him leaving.

Your post is probably the most accurate, though I like the mushroom cloud as well. You hear that sucking noise? That very loud sucking noise coming out of Baton Rouge? That is the sound of LSU's recruiting class ranking, as it falls...

We know when we recruit players with his talent, baseball is always an option. He is from Texas, so didn't bleed purple and gold like the rest of us. Can't blame him for going for the cash. Good luck Zach.
Coaches are in a tough spot, recruit too many top QB's and one will leave, see what happened when JaMarcus commited to us. Also, when RP committed, Colt McCoy changed to Texas. If we had tried to sign another top QB recruit, Zach may have gone elsewhere. Just a tough job for all coaches at this time.

Why are baseball players allowed to go directly from high school to the pros, but football and basketball players aren't?

IDK about basketball but if a kid right out of high school went and played in the NFl he would get seriously injured. i think its essential for those 3-4 more years of maturity
