For a first team All-American in a Championship game, those are somewhat disappointing stats.

If you watched that game and came away thinking she isn’t the GOAT and that she was playing with a completely inferior roster, you have a poor eye. Props to LSU, they had a superior team, but Clark was the best player on the floor by a mile.

Well, she did just break the tournament scoring record, assist record, and had the first 40 point triple double in tournament history. Put up 70+ in the final four playing with a bunch of lumbering white girls who got smoked all day. It was a Herculean performance. And judging by the viewership numbers she drew, and the media coverage even after the loss, I’d say she’s the goat.

All I’m saying here is it is dumb to trash talk someone like that. LSU won the game by being better at 4/5 of the roster, not by doing anything against Clark. If Clark were wise, she’d transfer to a national brand with a roster capable of matching up with elite teams. Iowa will never offer her that. The roster is a 10 win team without Clark.
And if clark called Mulkey and asked her to dump Reese in exchange for her services for the next 2 years, I’m guessing she would be at LSU and Reese would be elsewhere.

Since I’m so dumb, help me understand how the gameplan was to allow Clark to get hers by picking up full court, playing ball denial defense, and heavily contesting every shot she took, even ones from 35?
They tried to stop her the best they could, they just couldn’t, and I think they knew they wouldn’t going in.
