Giving Hallman 1 more year.

There was a blatant hold in the endzone while Brody was back there about to throw the ball. The flag should have been thrown and it would have given LSU two points for a safety.

Saw the replay of the game on one of the cable channels - was the Alabama network telecast. The Bammer homer announcers were constantly saying LSU was holding, but when that play was shown, not a peep out of them. Most blatant no call ever (more so than the no call in the end zone in 04!)

Was it Ronnie Lewis that missed it?

i think it was browndyke.

Ronnie Lewis did miss the one to win at the end of the 1985 Alabama game. David Browndyke missed a similar one at the end of the 21-19 loss to Ole Miss in 1986.

Alabama converted a 4 and 19 late in the '85 game. Their touchdown came on a halfback pass by infamous Gene Jelks (who scored their other touchdown) to QB Mike Shula. Ray Perkins caught hell for going for the tie.

Also the overturned call thanks to the Jumbotrons, right

Yeah! I remember Kevin Wagner being given the MVP award on the radio after show!!! Do you realize that that never should have happened???

LSU started replay before replay was official!!!

I was at the 85 tie game. It was a great comeback and I wanted to puke when the field goal was missed.

- In 1996, with the SEC West on the line, LSU laid a huge egg. ESPN Gameday was on campus, and LSU entered the game with just one loss. Shaun Alexander rushed for a school-record 291 yards and four touchdowns that night.

That's the one I remember the most. Chris Samuels comes over a couple of times a year for my crawfish boils and messes with me about it sometimes. Every year, we have a bet on the game. If I win this year, he has to say in an interviw that I was his inspiration for the Redskins next victory.

When Ronnie Lewis shot the bird at the LSU fans for booing him after he missed on the last play of the game.

1969 was the only time that I saw them win in Tiger Stadium. Also the last time until a decade or two later after Bear was gone.

I can't remember the year, I think 87, but they filmed the movie Everybody's All-American with Dennis Quaid during the game and halftime---we lost and of course we blamed that damn movie.
I thought that missed FG and the bird to the crowd was a Tulane game.

1979 game 3-0 Bama.

Cholly Mac's last one versus the Bear. You come see the mutual respect in their eyes and maybe a little tear at the end.

1982.

I was 14 years old. The game was a road game so I did not attend. These were the days before games on 15 different TV channels. This was a radio only game. And it was a day game. The mom and brother decided that we would bbq in the backyard and listen to the game on the radio. From the moment the game kicked off, LSU literally stomped Bama into the ground. The wishbone of the Bear was broken that day my friends. Ramsey Dardar and the rest of the D gave the Bear, in his words, the worst butt kicking any of his Bama teams ever took. That was the last time LSU would face the Bear, as he would retire and be dead within 5 months of that game.

Im not sure Baton Rouge ever enjoyed a victory over the Tide like that 20-10 beatdown.

Ah yes, it was the fall of 1979, Bama was in to play LSU at home and I was a freshman at LSU, living in the lap of luxury in Power Hall.

Had a date with a real woman (she was 22!) and we took one look at the weather and; "ahem", retired to my dorm room. We left the game on the radio, and had lots of sympathy for the poor saps who were out in the freezing rain, while we stayed mighty warm and cuddly.

Now, if memory serves, LSU lost like 6 to 0, but I was not that upset that LSU didn't manage to score, cause I did! Baby!!

That's what I"M talking about!!!

I'm glad someone else remembers ronnie lewis shooting the bird. He is one of three "bird-shooters" that I can recall. The others:
1. John Fourcade in '78 or '79, using both hands behind his back to the student section as he ran off the field to his bench
2. Doug Roth (the one-eyed UT center) in the PMAC to a heckling student section.

Best Bama game for me was '82--Rydell Melancon and Lyman(?) White running down the Bama option from across the field!

we beat them in Alabama.

I stand corrected - 1993
