Maybe it will rain for the App state game. It rained for the opening games the past few seasons.

1974 LSU vs. A&M - Aggies won (bummer). However, I was really hooked on Tiger Stadium!! Up until that point, I only listened to the games on the radio. I was just mesmerized by the whole spectacle.

1974 vs. Ole Piss.... I was four and still remember it. I also still have a foam finger that my dad bought me at the game.

My daughter was a freshman in 2003. The loss to Florida 19-7 was my first game but I fell in love with the atmosphere that day.
The good natured give and take. The food. The free flowing alcohol. And the crowd.
Had crummy seats. Still do. But I can remember Skylar Green returning that punt for a touchdown and my ears short-circuiting from the yelling. Holy cow, it was GREAT!!!

Sometime in late 40s - 48 or 49 (I think)
We beat (I think) = North Carolina.
The thing I remember for sure is the awesome sight of Tiger Stadium and the name of the star NC player = Choo Choo Justice.
I fell in love with LSU at that moment - for a 10 year old hick from the piney woods of Vernon Parish, that place was like the land of OZ.
When I first saw the stadium and my brother said they played football in there, I thought he was crazy - and then I thought they must play on TOP of the building - and then I was worried about what they would do if they kicked the ball over the side.
Those thoughts are still with me - but not much about the details of the game. I was too taken with watching a football game INSIDE a building.

WampusCat, that was the great 1949 Cinderella Team that beat three conference champs (SWC, SEC and ACC). My first game was later that same year.
Great to have another oldtimer on this thread.
btw, Charlie Choo Choo Justice was from here in Asheville, NC and died within the past year or so.
