Would run into Matt Stoltz all the time in a Little Rock gym back when he was just an LSU commit. Seemed like a good, well mannered kid with a good head on his shoulders. Too bad things didn't work out.
There's a couple former players that workout at the same 24 hour fitness in Austin I go to that I run into occasionally. One has a son in high school that he works out pretty hard with. Seem like nice guys, but I'm not a big jock sniffer so don't really hound them any...just sort of give each other a smile or thumbs up when they see me wearing LSU gear.
Can't really think of a bad experience, but usually just give a 'Geaux Tigers' and let them keep about their business. Not a big autograph guy.

I've had a couple of beers with Dalton Hilliard and Jarvis Green. Both are stand up guys.
I had a few classes with Ronald Dupree but never really talked to him (I want to say it was electronics 2) I have a lot of respect for an athlete that chooses a tougher major like electrical engineering. Props to him.
Worst - Playing against Jarvis Green in high school

Best - Stopped by the gift shop at TS one afternoon to buy some gear for a road trip. David LaFleur was in TS just throwing/catching with someone else (trainer maybe). Talked to him at length. I want to say he had recently hurt his knee or something. Anyway, nice guy. Fast forward some years later, he and Jamie Howard are walking through TD Village II. Gave him a holla, they both walked over and tailgated with us the majority of the day. Remembered the afternoon in TS. Had a great day.
Worst - In Brew-Bachers on Nicholson years ago (Pre Ruffino's) when Ruffin worked for Mockler. I was drinking a Silver Bullet and he wanted to "convert" me to BL. Physically takes my CL from in front of me and replaces it with a BL. Pissed me the hell off. I'll just say, obviously, Ruffin has worked on his PR skills since.

Worst/funniest = At Fred's and a few football players were there. A friend of mine got mixed up with Eric Edwards (not sure what happened/what started it). They began mouthing off to each other. My friend throws his drink in Edwards' face and takes off running out the bar.
I spent the next 10 minutes laughing my arse off.

In my freshman english class, we were given an assignment to write about any topic we would like to teach others about. I chose baseball, but some buy had chosen it before me. Ends up it was Brad Cresse. Since the season hadn't started and he was a freshman too, I had no clue who he was. I thought, what does he know about baseball.
He ended up letting me write about it. Later that year, I found out who he was, and his connections. I know a lot of people didn't think he was nice, but to me, he did something he didn't have to do. I never got to thank him.
Also had classes with Eddie Furniss. Had one of the softball chicks hitting on me in one of those classes. I thought she was a biker by the way she dressed. She was pretty hot, still bang my head for that one.
Worked with Matt Mauck, Eric Edwards, and Herb Tyler. Really liked all of them, they were nice.
Took many Kines classes, many of the athletes were in these classes. There were some that were as dumb as a bag of bricks.

Get to work!!!
I'm flying in tomorrow, hopefully. Depends on all the flight cancellations. I still owe you for a bunch of things. And, unless I can talk this chick into coming with me, I'm coming alone.
Also, did you play against J. Green or his brothers? I remember he went to D'ville. I think it was closer to my time, but could have been in between. For some reason I thought he went to St. James

Forgot about LaFleur. I walked out of my apartment one day, and him, Nicky Savoie, and Ben Borderlon were right there, washing their trucks. Talked to them for a while. Got to hang out with Ben and his sister. Ben's wife (fiance at the time) invited me over one day while she was trying on dresses. Don't know why, guess she wanted my "opinion".
Almost got in a fight with baseball players on night at Bogie's. Walked in and told my friend, "oh, that's so-and-so". He saw that and wanted to fight me. Don't remember his name, he was an outfielder in the mid to late 90's ('97 I think), and was a thug. Really skinny but hit bombs.

Had several classes with Shaq. He always sat in the back of the auditorium for Acct 2000. Never brought books or pen/paper, but sat quietly and paid attention. One day he walks in and sits one seat over from me in the 2nd row. Everyone thought that was odd, including the teacher as he showed a shocked expression when he walked into class. Shaq then asks me if he could borrow a pen and some paper. I thought he wanted the cute blonde's (sitting next to me) digits. 10 minutes into class, People Magazine photographer shows up to shoot a photo spread of Shaq "hard at work in class".
