The change will be either. having two levels of targeting with the lesser one being only a 15 yard penalty or the other will be an appeals process. Or both.

They just need to get rid of getting suspended for the next game (half)

First off you should only be ejected after the second offense, same as unsportsmanlike.

Think about it - unsportsmanlike conduct is generally intentional. Most incidences of targeting are simply split-second bad hits.

Also the whole second half of the next game BS has to go entirely.

That way, there's no need for a postgame review.

Ejection should be enough.

And if there are suspensions it should go by quarters, not half the game.

There should be degrees of targeting if they're gonna call BS calls.

Agreed. I keep seeing people (gumps) saying if you don’t suspend them the next game then it’ll be a free for all at the end of the game with intentional targeting. Like, did I miss that happening before this stupid arse penalty? No. So why would it happen now?

I think it's absurd to even eject for ONE foul. Again, 99.99% of the time there's nothing intentional or malicious about these hits. It's a game played at the fastest speeds humanly possible, and players shouldn't be thrown out for one mishap.

Hell, grabbing the face mask is more dangerous, and you don't get ejected for that nor do you see it done intentionally - 15 yard penalties have proven to be very effective deterrents.

Hell to me, it's not even about the targeting rule or sitting out. It's about the fact that by the definition and rule targeting didn't take place. I hear Marcus Spears run his mouth about not tackling a qb high and wonder wtf he watched because it sure wasn't the play that got called. No where was the neck or head area even touched. As far as I saw, not even the facemasks touched. And yet we continually hear about head and neck. Where The actual frig are we getting head and neck contact from because I sure didn't see it.
