At this point, I have conceded that our passing game is going to be our weakest area this year. I have no faith in Miles or Crowton to improve it. It has done nothing but gotten worse since the beginning of last year. It is, what it is.

But knowing that, there better be an opening for offensive coordinator here within a week of our season ending. And someone else on the staff needs to go to make room for a QB coach

Yeah, I think both of those guys qualify as RP's in their own special way.

As far as your argument on short term vs. long term effects on the program, I couldn't agree with you more.

I'm tired of being conflicted over the Miles/LSU issue. It's just not healthy to continue to want your team to succeed, yet know that it could be best for your program if they don't.

I'm taking it as a win/win opportunity. My expectations are low for this season, all the while being encouraged about the experience we are getting at a number of key positions.

yeah there doesn't appear to be much we can hope for

hell, we don't even have a quality fullback to attempt to go back to pro-style i-form

at least our D looks good for the most part

it isn't dominant, and we will never have a dominant D with chavis, but it appears to be quite certainly a quality unit

Let T Bob lose a few pounds. I bet he could play fb. He is undersized for the o-line anyway.

Surely the next Major Applewhite will be coming up the ranks from a local BR school to save the day right? Similar to how Bass/Davis/Temple saved the basketball team? Right?

you do realize that due to inept recruiting and roster management, we have no QBs after JJ/JLee, right?

It's pretty brutal...

Hopefully, Mettenburger(sp) signs with us and pulls a rabbit out of his arse.

If only people paid there bets on here.........

What is dominant to you SFP? I say by years end we rank in top 10 in rush D, top 10 in sacks, top 10 in 3rd down conversion against, and top 10 in scoring.........

Would that be dominant?

If we are top 10 in 3rd down conversions against, then I would say yes, dominant enough for me, but that AIN'T happening.

How can you be so sure we'll maintain this all season? We've played against two pretty weak offenses. Vanderbilt was the only team in the SEC who managed to have a worse offense than LSU last year.

Because I've watched football for 20 years, played it, studied it, and if you don't think the Defense that you are watching is going to continue to improve over the next 11 weeks you are in denial.

LSU has all the makings of a dominate D. Good interior pressure, so far great run stuffers, the ability to put pressure with 4 or 5, and a cover corner who scares qbs.

Ty M. will be a legitiment SEC Freshman 1st teamer and All-American by the end of the season.

The only legitimate concern is youth and injuries. Otherwise, these guys will gel into an SEC championship defensive unit.

I'm also saying we haven't played a good offense yet. UNC wasn't exactly known for their offense, and this was with Greg Little and their top two running backs.

If I were a top QB recruit, I would jump over hurdles to come play here with the current crop of talent to work with....not to mention the potential for immediate playing time.

We SHOULD be able to land a top 10 QB in this class, if sold in the right manner. I mean LOOK at the offensive talent surrounding the QB, LOOK at it!

So what? You have to look at the product, the mentality, the ability of the players in the scheme.

This defense is very fast to the football and is gaining confidence by the minute in what they can do great.

Name me a qb on our schedule over the next 7 weeks that has the ability to find the hot read and really scare you if it's 3rd and 8 or longer? Cause we are coming.

Look at what we face in the coming weeks.......the all play to our strengths.

Florida can't covert short yardage in between the tackles like Bama......has shown as much consistency as the Tigers thus far on offense.

top 5 in total yards and one of the negative play categories (sacks/picks) is a pretty good gauge to me
