The problem with Rivers, from what I'm hearing, is that he is supposed to be a "project" at quarterback, which means he'll take a few years to develop. He's not someone who should start his second year on campus.

What makes you think we are going after or are going to sign Mettenberger? Just curious.

i think we need to go pro-style, but recruiting pro-style QBs is a tough cookie, esp being in a state that rarely produces good ones

Why restrict to in state? Most of our recent QBs have been from Texas and Bama anyway. Let's look there.

You are correct about the future. Hopefully J. Lee has improved and can get us through this year and next. I will say, I watched a whole lot of college games the last two weeks and saw plenty of true or redshirt freshman playing a hell of a lot better than what JJ has been playing for us. I'm not all that worried about a young QB but a talented transfer or a Juco player would make things easier to groom a young QB.

i cannot say that seeing those defenses last year had no/little impact on JJ

it's just tougher to get guys OOS than in-state

if LA produced better QBs, we'd be in a better position in the future

no way it had any "positive" impact.

could rivers' play as a sophomore be significantly worse than what we've seen from jefferson and lee the last 2 seasons?

no. in fact it's probably going to be better.

lsu's future is bright.

Terry Bradshaw needs to throw yearly camps and whip these bitch arse young QB's into shape.

they could watch film every day of JJ and Jamarcus on what not to do...

LSU should always have 4 scholarship QB's on roster - RP got the boot, Lee went to MLB.

Every year LSU should sign a QB, now if you get a 4/5 star one year, you get a 3 star the next year, etc.

Or you can sign 2 one year (play one and redshirt the other) and 0 the next year or keep it at 1 a year.

LSU has dropped the ball in recruiting this position despite taking about 5 oline commitments that are no longer with the program.

i doubt rivers is as good as a sophomore as JJ was, assuming rivers has a shite OL and no running gam

The in-state, pro-style quarterbacks we do produce don't go to LSU.
