He’s getting paid now with the NIL stuff, what’s the difference?

What an entitled jackass he is

+1

If this is “true” in Stings mind, he was always opting out if we weren’t contending. Trying to blame a nonexistent “boggeman” or “people on a message board” is absurd

I hope he opts out. O isn’t doing anything to help him further his career and doesn’t deserve to have his talent to work with.

I’m thinking most people are ready to just burn it down and don’t care at this point— whatever gets Orgeron fired.

I see both sides of the coin… I haven’t criticized him for his play. He was fine outside of the missed tackle in the 4th. In fact, he had a nice tackle behind the LOS early in the game.

On the other side, his dad needs to quit the pouting on local radio. Block it out. He shouldn’t be giving these weekly interviews anyway but they’ve got to ignore the shite..

Oh stop it. If daddy is floating the idea after one game and some people saying mean things on the internet, they want to opt out and are looking for any little reason to justify it. The Stingleys can quit acting like they're doing us a favor by letting superstar suit up for us peasants. If Jr. wants to quit, that shite is on him. Don't try to blame other people for his choices.

Truth. I’m a little shocked at SFP. Thought he was better than this. When Lester Earl is praising your thread, you should step back and take a deep breath.

Who cares?? You’re in the spotlight. It comes with the territory. I think this sums up today’s kids and athletes perfectly though. Give me all the good that comes with being famous and kiss my arse when I do well but don’t you dare criticize me if I don’t do well or if you don’t like what I’m doing. Leave me alone!!

Wanna be the man? Take the responsibility of what all goes with that.

This is what separates guys like Burrow. Tune it out and go play.

Is it fair? Probably not but you can’t be a bitch and ask fans to stop being mean. You signed up for big time college football dude. Deal with it

You do know he is getting paid right now as well. So what is the difference between getting called out now and 1 year from now?

Look, a lot of us agree that the criticism of Stingley is misguided.

But god damn, if he quits over a message board that says more about him and his dad than it does about the rant.

Hell, Derek has not gotten near the flak from fans that Clark, Harris and others have yet they aren’t hinting at quitting.

You really can’t blame him. Stingley has a Head Coach that does nothing but clap on the sidelines and yells “geaux tigers!”

It’s heartbreaking but honestly I really can’t blame him at all if he’s done.

I’m just kind of over it. It irked me a little when Chase left, then Gilbert did…whatever it was he did, then a few more opt outs, then Marshall threw up the duces with a couple games left.

It’s whatever. Stingley gains nothing by playing this out. NFL doesn’t care one way or the other and that’s his future.

The problem is the criticism isn't even valid. It's emotional sky screaming at a player when (1) the criticism itself is stupid and (2) the criticism is emotional-irrational. There is a completely valid target for this vitriol, too.

Hint: he talks like us.

Stingley was treated great on here compared to Damone Clark or the olinemen or safeties. I don’t see their parents threatening to pull them off the team

Lol the only ones triggered are the stingley family and you guys bitching about the mean fans

Nut up and go play dude. The mental weakness is sad

FYI I agree Orgeron is the problem. Check my posts. I’ve never criticized stingley but I think it’s chicken shite to cry about fan criticism and reflects the lack of mental toughness of today’s youth

If you play ball in the sec you better know it’s coming when things ain’t good. It is what it is.

Win out and the same meanies will make sure you never spend a dollar in this state the rest of your life.

Fans are fickle. Players gotta respek that and know that

Shut up and play

It's stupid to criticize any of them, given the circumstances. The difference is Sting is on another level.

If Clark opts out, he's likely never playing football again.
