They do this weird shite with awards for the kickers where you basically get the award the next year after you are good. It's strange.

It’s not just kickers. Delpit won the Thorpe award based off his 2018 season not 2019. A lot of it is name recognition and the longer you are known the better chance you have of being nominated.

Kind of like the Thorpe award last year.

Nah. Reichard was 4/7 last year. He's 12/12 this year and 73/73 XPs. His 2 year total is 16/19.

If we were 7-3 or better, York would have been a finalist.

You can never take away the light-blinded 57 yard fog cutter.

Preseason hype hurts the ones that have beat season
They probably had finalists before his Florida kick

He should have been a finalist for that kick alone. Blind 57 yarder in the fog at the end of the game?

He’s only made 3 FGs from 40+ the entire season. In college, it’s not a big deal to be perfect on PATs. If you’re not, it’s usually not the kicker’s fault. Good for them finally having a kicker that can make most of his kicks, but he shouldn’t be a Groza finalist.

York was 6/7 from over 50 yards. There’s a reason you’re seeing him on all-American teams.

I keep repeating myself in threads, but just want to make sure everyone knows:

According to my searching, Kicking 6+ 50+ yard field goals in a season has been done by only two other kickers in the past decade and both are starting kickers in the NFL

at the end of the day it will not matter. York will be starting in the NFL. something that only 32 placekickers in the world can say.

And how many of those in only 10 games?
