Lot of bad takes in these threads of people white knighting for BK.

He was the coach. I supported him because he was the coach of my favorite team. It was a good hire when it happened.

When it became abundantly apparent that he was not working out, I ceased my support.

I am sure MANY people took the same approach.

If this is a "gotcha" moment for you, then congrats I guess

Do you want to dig up the posts from Les Miles and Ed O at the end of their tenures as well?

No, but I'd imagine there was a lot of stupidity and "know-it-all" posters surrounding their tenures as well.

My favorites are the ones where people call others retards dumbasses and idiots or rotflmao emojis for suggesting Kelly was going to be fired or on the hot seat if he didn’t make the playoff. His seat was obviously a lot hotter than all our genius level IQ posters suspected

No problem with that. But were you critical of everyone else that was skeptical of BK?

All of those posts are from this year, most being within the past 6 months. Not a gotcha moment, but there were people that were skeptical of him heading into this season and they were bashed and told they were idiots. Turns out they were right.

I’ll admit I was wrong too, I though LSU would go 9-3 or 10-2 this year. I'm also in one of those threads saying he wasn't on the hot seat because his buyout was too big. I was wrong about that as well.

No matter how wrong someone was about a coach no one here will ever have the balls to say they were wrong.

I was wrong and have no issue admitting it. I was in BK’s corner until this season. I thought SW got the best person to right the ship, it looked like he had, but then Matt House, then Sloan, rest is history.

I did think it was worth it to bring a proven coach with his track record with a “high floor” but it turns out his floor wasn’t any higher than an average coach we could’ve gotten anywhere.

I’m thinking a lot of coaches could be 5-3 right now with LSU’s talent. We’re not the most talented but we’re top 10.

That's my whole point. There is a reason why people are called fans (short for fanatic). You rally behind your guy because he is your guy, until it is 100% obvious. Same with players.

Going back in time... Les Miles and Ed Orgeron won titles here. I would have "thought" back then that Kelly would have just as good of a chance as his predecessors....

what i didn't know at the time....
that his special teams would not be special
that he would not focus on winning the LOS on both sides of the ball
that he would be so "absentee" from his own program that he claimed he wanted to win a national title

these were unknowns upon his hiring. and being bama in year 1 was another red herring.

I didn’t post this to say that I’m the smartest guy on this board and know everything. I can and do admit when I’m wrong. I think that’s something you struggle with.

It goes both ways. For every guy that is positive about everything, there are guys that are negative about everything. I try to be somewhere in between and realistic. I HOPE every person at LSU succeeds, but I realize that’s not reality and will point out flaws and weaknesses that are apparent. Some people refuse to do that.

Go for it. I know I’ve got bad takes on this board and have admitted that several times.
