Y'all are losing your minds over this more than the athletic program is and it's hilarious

Really y'all. Read the room. Our military is currently involved in two wars. It's a patch and an alternate endzone. Oh, and they're asking not to boo. Big goddamn deal! Y'all act like this is the end of days because we’re doing stuff to welcome Army to town. We’re gonna throttle them on the field. Maaaybe everyone should calm down. If LSU painting the endzones in camo and putting an American flag patch on is the biggest nuisance of your week, you're a blessed man that's complaining like a woman. Or a woman complaining like a woman. Either way, you're whinging. Stop your whinging.

Interesting because they have been issued a military ID, get paid a monthly salary, can be charged under UCMJ, and qualify for the armed services medal.
I guess we have different definitions of in the military.

First. We are out of Iraq and Afghanistan. The Government is supplying aid to both Ukraine and Israel with no boots on the ground. We are technically in peace time

Yes, I served. And no, West Point cadets are not considered to be members of the armed services until graduation.
Now, I will agree with you that they’re in a strange limbo because our tax codes don’t consider them to be students either.
