I want to know who the competing offers were from. Funny how this released tape never mentions why the supposed offer wasn’t good enough for a kid in our backyard. Who were we bidding against?

Universities should be allowed to pay elite players if they want to anyways. frick all that noise about a "free education". the elite players bring in media attention and more money for the university that wouldn't have been there without them.
coaches get paid, university gets paid, elite players risk injury before they get paid. if a university wants to rent a house for a players family, buy a car, and cut a six figure check, then so be it.
