I thought the same last year when everyone was getting trashed in the media but I think if these guys get off light the NCAA isn’t going to want more black eyes. I think they may send non public messages to everyone and even tighten the ropes on recruiting but I don’t think they’ll double down. Remember in 2022 the NCAA is going to lose a big portion of its star power so they’re not going to discourage teams from bringing in stars while they can still use them to market the sport for a couple more years.

No shite. The investigation is into Dawkins. The NCAA can now issue a punishment based on the FBIs findings. The FBI will be asking Wade to elaborate on what was mentioned in these tapes (speaking to the defendant, Dawkins), and asked very pointed questions.
The FBI isn’t going to ask him shite, they aren’t the ones who subpoenaed him. It was Dawkins defense team who did it, they’re trying to muddy the waters of this investigation and turn it into a circus. Just look at what Haney said in the article, “We’re gonna pull back the curtain”. This is about a guy who got caught trying to pull other people down with him. More than likely Wade’s testimony will not be admitted into evidence in the first place nor will he be called to testify in open court. It has no relevance to Dawkins case. It was thrown out the first time, it’ll be thrown out again. Forde is a hack journalist who’s acting as Haney’s lap dog on this. Y’all should go back and read the article he did a month ago on this. Notice how he omitted the fact that it was the defense who subpoenaed Wade. He tried to imply it was the FBI, which would carry much more weight. He’s a piece of shite.

Idk if Wade is dirty or not, but if this was a blue blood, nothing would happen. They're pissed a team like LSU can have success doing the same exact things they have for years. Cal left 2 programs with NCAA investigations but is now squeaky clean at UK?

Code's relaying to Townsend what the recruiting circumstances are with Williamson's father. "Hey," said Code, according to his attorney, Mark Moore. "Between me and you, you know, he asked about some stuff. You know?" Who is "he?" Zion Williamson's father, per Moore's courtroom account. "I know what he's asking for," Code continued. "He's asking for opportunities from an occupational perspective, he's asking for cash in the pocket and he's asking for housing for him and his family." If this was to follow the basics that played out over the past 2½ weeks here as the underground economy of college athletics was laid bare in a federal fraud trial, that meant a job (lucrative with little to no work), a lot of cash (six figures, minimum) and an apartment or house (rent-free, of course). If you've seen Zion play, you'd know that isn't a bad deal. Which might be why Townsend sounded unfazed. "I've got to just try to work and figure out a way because if that's what it takes to get him here for 10 months, we're going to have to do it some way," Townsend said.
This was in a tape about Zion. There’s a big difference in wades converstions and this one. LINK
Here’s a link to read all of it.

In the comment section of the article:

Though, notice how they don't go after the Duke's and UNC's of the world, hell nothing happened to UNC after it was found out players were talking bogus classes. Jerry Tarkanian said it best, "The NCAA is so mad at Kentucky that they put Cleveland State on probation."

What they have now is very vague and circumstancial but whenever the NCAA and FBI both start snooping around it likely isn't going to end well.

And it was all bullshite but did Lester’s apology and admission to lying make headlines? Nope, I know the NCAA and ESPN hares LSU gets a lot of eye rolls and it should in football but in basketball it’s as real as the air you’re breathing. Dale Brown fought and embarrassed the NCAA for years and they still hate us for it. As long as Brown is alive and maybe even after the NCAA will have it out for LSU basketball.

NCAA hypocrisy at it's finest.
They will never in 100 years give more than very minor infractions to their blue blood cash cows, but will impose devastating sanctions onto smaller programs in a heartbeat. The NCAA is a corrupt joke of an organization that need to end.

is Wade goes, does Alleva go?

LSU (or its fans/reps) need to shine a light on that story or some other story like it and Get the negative attention off of LSU.
Duke/Zion would be perfect for LSU as it would completely overshadow Wade/LSU in the media if more people started talking about it and writing about it.

If the NCAA lets this go, they have nothing on WW.

I'm always suspicious when a program gets very good in a short period of time...as much as I don't want to believe that we cheated....it's hard to infer anything else after reading this....it doesn't look good for Wade...

frick it all. Still love WW. Don’t give a shite about any of this.

In football, sure. Basketball? No. There is so much turnover from year to year in college basketball that teams can come and go very quickly.

This seems like such an odd tape for Dawkins to use in defense of his corruption charges. A tape that makes clear that the middleman was not satisfied with Wade's "offer" and demanded a bigger piece of the pie.
I suppose Dawkins is trying to show how rampant corruption is in college basketball and that it was the coaches driving the boat, but from this phone call it seems as if it was Dawkins and his cronies setting the price and holding the players ransom.

UNC was caught with an entire building used solely for fraudulent basketball grades and not one thing was done to them. For Roy Williams, it’s his second major scandal. Duke was allowed to lower its academic requirements for basketball players only. Syracuse was hit with 12 violations a couple years ago then by the time the season rolled around the NCAA dropped all but 1 of them. Conversely Oregon was hammered by the NCAA this year because their head coach was in his office during a summer workout. The NCAA rule is during those practices the coach may not be present and they know for a fact that the coach wasn’t at the practice but he was somewhere in the building and Oregon got burned. Probly over recruiting which is exactly why Wade is being trashed weekly by the media scumbags.

Thank you my point! The word cash is mentioned when in wades it’s all speculative.

They better not let go of Wade. I don’t give a shite if we go on probation for a few years

i hope everyone remembers the absolute worst consequence of all of this is we will just go back to sucking. which most of us are used to. i commend coach wade for doing what it takes to win. he was reckless talking on the phone and it might be his undoing, but i am so thankful IF he did pay these great players to come to LSU. it's been a fun year.
