turnovers in the way WVU had them are self inflicted

Wrong. Two were Mathieu-inflicted.

And WVU forced ZERO turnovers while LSU literally gave away 8 points on the Randle drop and PAT botch.

TM7 straight up took the ball out of the dudes hands? hows that self-inflicted?

There was nothing there to keep RR2 from catching the damn ball, however, the LSU D was all the frick over WV making shite happen. Good defenses cause offenses to hurt themselves, and that's what it was.

Have you heard of the term "ball security"? Are you seriously going to argue another players literally taking the ball from another hand's is not an avoidable play? TM7 is great, but he's not "will the ball out of the opponents clutches" great, that's sloppy carrying accompanied by fantastic defensive concentration.

I don't know because that was clearly the opposite of my point.

That play, probably not.

Getting stripped is an avoidable play, it's not like a big KO hit where you pop the ball out. That is not to say it does not deserve praise, but being stripped is a loss in the battle of heart and concentration. Someone literally just came up and wanted that ball more.

Yes and Yes.

FYI, Regarding LSU naughty fan myths: topping the list is the legend that we pushed over grandma (from the opposing team, but of course) whilst she was taking a weewee break in a porta-pottie. I'd tell you it never happened, but then that would ruin the legendary LSU naughty fan myth.

Best of luck to WVA the rest of year. Hope you win your conference and the rest of your games.

It all boils down to the age old saying...
Offense wins games and Defense wins championships

Exactly, two people wanted it. One got it. In the RR2 situation, one person just didn't want it. You can't compare the two, which is what you tried to do.

I'll one up you, we've had the porter potty myth, but we've actually got a long standing myth that one of our fans went into the GT band section when they were performing at halftime and dropped a deuce.

I still think there's a difference between self inflicted wounds and forced turnovers. When Tyrann Mathieu comes out of nowhere and tips the ball to himself, it's him making a play, not Geno really shooting himself in the foot. The same is true when Mathieu rips the ball out of a guy's hands. That's Mathieu making a play. Not a screw up. If Geno makes a bad throw that lands in the hands of a DB because it was overthrown or underthrown or thrown too late, then you could probably make an argument for self-inflicted wounds, but the fact is that LSU has amassed turnovers in all of their games against pretty stiff competition. Eventually, you have to acknowledge that it's not just the teams they're playing screwing up, but it's LSU making plays. The patterns don't lie.
