Per Jim Kleinpeter @ NOLA.com....
quote:

Good chance this is a red herring. Pendergast lives in Dallas as does George Bass, who is Miles' agent. Good place for him to meet all candidates. Stoops is a bad fit. Perhaps Les is doing him a favor getting his name in there

quote:

Don't assume he's hired. Pendergast is still the top choice.

quote:

Very often a coach will call the man doing the hiring and just ask that his name get dropped in the search, or that he gets an interview so he can gain some leverage back home.

Oklahoma reporter @DeanBlevins reporting Les will interview Mike Stoops for the DC opening. Sooners fans begging for #LSU to take him...

OK. I'm going to try and look at the bright side of Stoops.

He's been playing against a lot of spread offenses which pretty much every school has had trouble figuring out so, that might contribute to his softer numbers at OK.

Maybe Les is thinking that he wants a DC who has experience dealing with spreads.

OK. There. That's what I got......
Figured I'd drop this again. I mean, I'm just sort of worn out so I'm going to wait till a trigger is actually pulled to melt.

I hope so. Makes sense to do a coach favor for a buddy to give them money. Coaching circles are all the same.

If Mike Stoops is hired, I will become so anti-Miles that I will make ICanSeeForMiles, Monsterballads, TigerLee, Peej, TigerInATL and that bunch--look like Beefense and Choctaw.

If he's hired, then either Miles is a complete moron or, and this is worse.......

Or, good candidates are looking at LSU's trend and saying thanks but no thanks.

My concern from the get go wasn't so much that Chavis left cause I don't consider him irreplaceable.

My concern has been the "why" of him leaving. Oh, we've speculated a bunch on here but that's all it is, speculation.

But, you can bet other DCs absolutely know the why and if that why reflects poorly on LSU, Miles, Alleva or some combination thereof, the new hire could be problematic.

I did too. Thought he was a stupid hire from the get-go. Not even joking.
