Rather then orgeron yes I’d be okay with hiring a proven winner

Yes. I'm not paying for it, so why the hell would I care?

I know he lost his QB but even with that he shouldn't be 5-6 as of today.

He is an above average coach, but not worth $7.5MM for 10 years guaranteed.

So what coach do you think they would have ended up with for $4mil-$5mil? There's no indication someone like Chad Morris wouldn't just be a Kevin Sumlin part 2. Does the extra 3mil per year really matter?

Absolutely. Anyone who says differently doesn't understand you have to pay for quality coaches now. The best all make 6-7mil+ a year.

You realize there were more options than Jimbo for $75 million or Orgeron, right?

we didn't have to give him what A&M did. We would've gotten him for less in 2015 but F. King effed it up.

The 7.5M is a ton, but the much bigger problem is the 10 years. That's absurd.

I'm absolutely NOT convinced that Fisher isn't burned out. I think he knows that and that's why he's looking for a change of scenery. There is no guarantee that rejuvenates him in the long term.

Is he worth that, no.

That being said I'd still take Jimbo all day at that price over Orgeron.

I am in favor of LSU hiring the best of the best and paying what the market will bear. I understand why people think that the costs are out of control but that is the world we live in. And as far as how it affects the university's finances, you have to spend money to make money.
