Would you say LSU is still an elite program?

Football related. It's an honest question for people on both sides of the fence. I don't think we are anymore. We're top 15 to 20 at best. And the media was telling us exactly this by advocating for Miles.

3 loss a year program I'd say now. That is ok with a lot of people it seems.

Elite programs play in championships or are in contention until the end... LSU has not done so for too long IMO.

the truth hurts, man... we are not "elite" at the moment... we were, but now we aren't.... sorry, as a huge, lifelong LSU fan, it's hard, and i mean very hard, to admit that, but it is what it is.... we aren't living up to the expectations we have earned and set up as a result of our successes in the 00's...

potentially yes. we have all of the makings of an elite program that has "paused" or slippen slightly. all programs do this and it's probably due to some key recruiting misses or poor qb's combined with some complacency on the coaching staff. Oklahoma comes to mind. anyone w/o saban as HC goes thru these periods and he might if he didn't recruit nationally so well.

all we need to return to elite status is get good qb play and fix our defense problems (which are due to new coaching scheme) and special teams play (which we did the last two games of the season).

our OL and DL and LB recruiting is still a little light.

As a program, I'd say LSU is still elite. An 8-4 season next year would probably bump the Tigers. If the Tigers can't beat Alabama next year, I'd say it's over.

Nowhere close to being elite. Marginal top 25 team now. Finished unranked last year and likely will again after they don't show up for a crappy bowl game.

6 dominating losses the last 2 years say no. I could understand losing. That's not the problem. The problem is how bad we are losing. When we win sometimes its hard to watch. That's pretty f*cking sad. None of the miles supporters will admit it but he is on a down trend. A .500 record in the SEC west the last 3 years won't cut it.

So 3 of last 5 years were in contention into November? Hell this year still in contention until mid November....that's pretty late and pretty recent.

I think we've been telling ourselves that for a few years now. I personally had this year marked as the deciding year. And I don't think next year will be much different.
