Would you give up Coach O for a Quarterback?

I would. Let me explain why...

With all the excitement with Steele and Orgeron people seem to have forgotten....we still don't have a quarterback.

Defense and recruiting isn't going to mean shite next year if the offense is the same run, run, pass, punt offense that we had this year. I would be willing to give up a few spots on defensive ranking in return for a good quarterback.

As much as defense is important, college football and yes, even the SEC is changing. With all the spread offenses out there, even the best defenses are inevitably going to get scored on so you have to have a good offense to counter and keep up. The 2 teams that played for the CFP title - OSU and Oregon were ranked 19th and 87th respectively in total defense but 9th and 3rd in total offense. OSU Got by Bama because of a great Offense - one that put up 537 yards on the Bama defense. Throughout the season there have been plenty of smaller schools that moved the ball and put up points on top tier defenses.

Times are a changing folks.....we're moving into an era when people will say "Offense wins championships"

Love how the guy that's up himself and responds to a thread seconds after it's posted tells someone else to go to bed.

Make a sensible point or gtfo

Probably not. Defense can still win championships. OSU has a very good defense; it wasn't just their offense. Coach O is going to bring in some great defenders. Football is won in the trenches, and hopefully he will fix our Defensive trenches. Our dline has been average or less for awhile.

Not reading that...

Simple answer is HELL NO

The Org will just recruit 5 star bullies to stack the line and bulldoze opposing teams in the trenches.

No QB needed.

Yes defense is important. Example...????

I don't know of one single team in college football history that could've beat that Bama 2011 defense. It was just retarded sick.

This may be the most meaningless, pointless, wasted fricking thread I ever read on here. Go to bed! I am now the second saying this in your shitty thread. I have nothing of substance to add other that whats said above.

We got lucky to win that game. We were outplayed and their kicker couldn't hit the ocean if he was kicking from the beach.

Still...that night of the NC...nobody could've beat that defense.

Also...Orgeron IS the BEST recruiter in college football. One of the best in history. He was recruiting coordinator at USC for Christ sake. Blew it up at Miami an everywhere he's been. I wouldn't put him in the class of Saban in terms of recruiting ability. He's that good.

Those USC teams in the early 2000's were better than any Bama team Saban has put out there.

Yes, go ahead and pump Saban, I'm going to bed before you do.

Although I wouldn't be against a coach who could teach QB and TE and making a move with that position coach.

Yes...he recruited leinert and bush etc.

Saban relies on his network for his incredible recruiting. Orgeron might be the single best recruiter in the country right now.
