Would you be happy with Hue Jackson as the OC?

Most of the fan base is somewhat frustrated with the offense and with the former head coach looking for work, would it be a bad offseason hire? Don’t crucify me, just curious as what the take would be

Isn’t Hue Jackson the guy that prepares my taxes ?

He fits the rant's preference. They seem to think when you lose it actually makes you better, and who is "better" than Hue?

a 53 year old nfl coach who hasn't coached in college this century? no. i wouldn't be happy with him as the OC.
I want a proven college coach

Two things:
1) As a Raider fan, I saw Hue Jackson provide immediate improvement to the Raider offense in 2010. He took a group of underperformers and made them into a dynamic and explosive offensive unit. Hue Jackson is a creative coach who can get a lot out of players.
2) Hue Jackson is a complete knucklehead / A-Hole who routinely backstabs / badmouths the HC to get himself in a position to be the head coach himself. There is a damned good reason Jackson bounces from job to job -- his toxic personality.
If I could have Hue Jackson the OC divorced from Hue Jackson the man, I'd take it.
We can't and won't get that, however.
Give me Yurcich, Briles, Freeze.

There should be a rule where we could downvote someone to a magic number and then their right to start threads is banned for a certain amount of days.
Like if you start a thread asking if we should hire a coach that just led one of the worst offensive attacks in football over the past 3 years to lead our offense.
Like 100 dv you can't start a thread for a week

Not only no, but hell fricking no. Dude is a walking drama generator, do you see what kind of a mess he left in Cleveland???

That is a fair assessment and the type of feedback I can appreciate. It was just a simple thought I had because I too remember him doing some nice things in Oakland.

He's a good actor, but what does he know about football?

If this was the case, we need to make it a rule to ban Alleva for hiring people who continuously lead us to one of the worst offenses this decade.

As the OC, sure.
Stabbing Cable in the back was bad; trading for Palmer was worse; throwing Jason Campbell under the bus unnecessarily was pretty awful, too...
Hue Jackson is just a shitty person who happens to be a smart / creative football coach. His personality is not sustainable longer term.
