Would Tyron Johnson have been a starter in 2017?

I still don't get him leaving. It seems he would have been on the field a lot as a junior.

He smart.

Just shows that a tad bit of patience and loyalty go a long way. He and Chark could be the stars of the show this year. Now don't get me wrong, the way our offense looked in the offseason last year was pretty terrible, so I see where he was coming from. My how things have changed since then.

possibly, if he figured out how to catch the ball without hopping, or how to put in work

I think it was pressure around his family to leave. Didn't his dad say something about LSU not having a wide open offense and only wanting to run the ball being the reason that he was transferring?

He's going to be a stud in gundy's offense

I more don't get him coming to LSU than leaving LSU.

He must not have thought so.

That would have been a good reason not to come in the first place.

Doubtful. He was practicing with the freshmen while Drake Davis and Anderson were practicing with the veterans.

It seemed like he got disheartened with the prospects of catching 1 pass a game.

Talent wise yes, but it seemed like he got in the dog house and that's why he transferred. Fell down the depth chart in spring. I think he could have been as good as Chark/Dupre/Dural this year, but he left, so, no one will know.
It's not easy to get playing time here at WR when we have as much talent as we do (and until mid this year or so, we only played 2 maybe 3 WRs at once typically). Dupre is about to go mid rounds at worst. Dural might get drafted late. Chark if he indeed improves some will be an early to mid round type pick...Then he had to fend off the young guys like Anderson, Davis and Sullivan.
Ultimately, he left because he fell down the depth chart and he probably saw Miles dragging the same putrid offense into this year as he had previously. Remember Johnson was really sold on us "opening up the offense" which didn't happen in 2015 and he probably saw exactly the same in spring 2016. It would not surprise me one bit if Johnson was a 1000 yard receiver next season at Oklahoma State.

Most of them are on NFL scouts radars coming out of HS & the % drafted are ridiculously high vs rest.
That's why some like to go to Bama & only play 1.5 yrs b/c they are scared of getting hurt.
Others like to play to get better, shine, & become future NFL Tigers after 3 or 4

He knew this before he committed to lsu. Even with Canada we will be a run first team.

Yes. He was in the same dog house chark was in his first 2 years. Didn't blame him for leaving. Kid will do well at OKC.

Well reports were that we was way down the depth chart at fall camp. Talent doesn't guarantee a spot

It was definitely his work ethic. He felt with all the skills it would be given to him. Also he didn't want to block on the outside. That's mandatory foR LSU wide outs and a big reason why the NFL loves our wide outs. Beckham was flashy but he blocked his arse off and Juice always did. Pay attention to last year, Sullivan, Gage and Chark were always making big arse blocks for Guice. Also I saw some plays Anderson was driving corners down field. If you explode off the ball during running plays and block, the defense never knows when you're going out for a pass. That's the key to getting open here.
