The CWS may have outgrown Omaha, but I still don't want it to move. Where else would it go? KC? LA is a no...absolutely no support. Atlanta, please. New Orleans? Where. Me personally, if it aint at Wrigley field, keep it in Omaha. At the least the people are super nice there.

Not for us as die-hard fans, but the the CWS doesn't enjoy the status and excitement that the football championship brings, or the basketball championship, for that matter. Why is that?

people don't care about college baseball nationally. it's mostly a southern thing

the national ratings for game 3 was like a 1.5 or something

Houston, Seattle, or Minneapolis would work for me.

The CWS has outgrown Omaha, IMO. It does not have the proper infrastructure (hotels, restaurants, available commercial airline flights, rental cars) to support the number of people coming into the city from out of town.
They support the Berkshire Hathaway convention every year and more people come to that.

Also, as we saw this CWS, the venue needs to have a domed stadium or at least a retractable roof.
So because it rained this year it needs a domed stadium? Domed stadiums for baseball suck. They are necessary in MLB due to the amount of games they have to play but not in college. Outdoors is always better.

Seriously? Could you have picked worse places for College Baseball?

Maybe a rotation among select big league ball parks. Wrigley, Baltimore, Fenway, the new Yankee stadium, or Dodger Stadium would all be cool with me. I still like it in Omaha.

A month later start and Chicago, cooler, Cubs fans would show up, could cheer for a champion.
Ain't gonna happen for 25 years.

If ESPN thought college baseball could grow and be a moneymaker by moving out of Omaha, they would be beating down the NCAA's door about moving it a long time ago.

Never!!
Omaha is a "Field of Dreams" that can never be explained, only experienced by taking a trip there. Moving it to another city would take away that feel and "innocence" found in Omaha.

Keep the CWS in Omaha. There is something magical about that place. It's small enough to have that small town feel but large enough to host an event such as the CWS. I understand that you want the popularity of college baseball to grow but if you look back over the past few years the event is growing. We set a new attendance record this yearat Rosenblatt and the tv audiance is sure to follow but this won't happen over night. Something else you have to think about is that if it grows to the popularity of football how easy will it be to get tix? What kind of people will attend? Will. LSU still own Omaha? No. I like it small and Omaha.

who cares? and, yes, I know the question... would it gain "stature"? frick that.

I prefer it to fly under the radar so dipshits don't frick it up and sell out, and I and like minds can enjoy it.
