We are going to need every bit of him and that worries me if he’s gone vs Lincoln Riley

I think he'd stay.

I have to think he would. It's not every day you get a chance to coach in the playoffs.

When Pelini was hired at Nebraska in 07 he stayed until after the national championship game.

Don't be worried. Coaches aren't the ones who play in the game.

UNLV - where coaching dreams come to die. Aranda can not even take this seriously. I'm not buying any of it.

The best coach there in the last forty years was 19-25..

UNLV has had 8 head coaches in forty years of college football

Coach Seasons Record Pct. Bowl Record

Harvey Hyde 1982–1985 8–37–1 .185 0–1
Wayne Nunnely 1986–1989 19–25–0 .432
Jim Strong 1990–1993 17–27–0 .386
Jeff Horton 1994–1998 13–44–0 .228 1–0
John Robinson 1999–2004 28–42–0 .400 1–0
Mike Sanford 2005–2009 16–43–0 .271
Bobby Hauck 2010–2014 15–49–0 .234 0–1

I don’t think it benefits LSU to have a unlv coach at D coordinator. You have to tell him thanks but no thanks.

It’s the playoffs on the line. The national title.

Aranda isn’t taking a 80% pay cut

Yes. Similar to when Pellini took the Nebraska job in 2007 before we played and beat OSU.

Totally different now with the early signing period

Also the playoffs last a week longer than the BCS did in 2007

8 days to form a staff and recruit before ESD. I’d say thanks for what you’ve done but turn the keys over to Raymond and Bill Busch for the playoffs. Too many distractions.

Early signing period doesn’t have a great impact at UNLV. He would coach through the playoffs - if CEO wanted

This ain’t 07. Recruiting. Staff. Early signing period. Playoffs drag on to mid January... I’d be worried about his focus.

Well it’s not ideal to work two jobs. It can be done but the timing here isn’t ideal. Long term we will be fine
