We just seemed to not have a plan last night. Take the first inning. They bunted first pitch then hit and run second pitch. 2 pitches in they have a runner in scoring position with 2 hosses coming up

If Poche pitches as he can, we can (and should) beat FSU.

If Lange pitches as he can on Friday...no reason we can't beat OSU...Taking it to a decisive Elimination game.

In that game we'll need someone to step up and get it done... who, how and If we can, I do not know...but my faith is in LSU to win tomorrow and give themselves a chance to play OSU on Friday.

This sounds like the Les Miles mentality...thanks but no thanks

So you can only be proud of NC seasons?

If winning the hardest conference in all of cbaseb, winning that conf' s tourney, and finishing top 4 isnt enough
Then you have crazy expectations.

This is the problem with our fanbase, doing enough to merit good will towards the coach seems to be the limits of our ambition. LSU baseball is the crown jewel of college baseball and we've consistently underachieved by our standards. Pumper fans will always pump no matter what most of them don't have a clue what it takes or how to win so you can't expect them to see things clearly. People who know baseball know beating FSU isn't nearly enough.

according to one poster, all that matters is wins in omaha, not winning the title.

The problem about last night was that it was embarrassing. Go out and play hard and sound and its hard to complain even in loss. This team has simply not played well since Hoover.

Play like that team and they will either win or lose repectfully. Just dont play like the uninspired team that showed up last night.

With the way this season was going in April, I am considering this season a success even with a loss tomorrow. But I'll be in the minority as evident by the number of down votes you see over here --------->

Wow. So winning the sec title, winning the sec tourney title and being one of the last 4 teams isn't NEARLY enough?
As a sec baseball program, if we beat FSU we are 2 teams away from winning every title possible but yet it's not even close to being enough?

I don't think anyone is suggesting that just getting to Omaha and winning a couple of games is our end goal. What is your point/solution? Should we fire Mainieri for getting to the "Final Four " of college baseball?

No it's not do you think Kentucky basketball fans and Alabama football fans think winning the sec which is more significant in their respective sports than in baseball is enough? LSU baseball is about championships and while winning the SEC is great he hasn't done anything in Omaha since year 2. If He'd have won in 13 or 15 the stakes would be different but this will be the third time he has the most talented team and hasn't done it. What's worse is the way this particular tourney has gone so far, starting an injured freshman over one of your aces and the logic behind that decision.

The post wasn't strictly about cpm but more about our fans reaction to his failures, their rejection of any criticism at all of him and the ridiculous excuses and ignorant defenses of some of his decisions. If you put cpm under the heat Les Miles endured his last 2 or so seasons we may see a different approach. He's given way too much slack by our fans.

That kind of beatdown is hard to recover from mentally. CPM had better get into those boys heads with the quickness.

Nah, I'm gonna disagree. What Florida did to TCU, where they hung close but couldn't begin to threaten, that's discouraging. You played a good game, but couldn't touch them.

What happened to us was embarrassing, humiliating. You played bad, and they made a point of rubbing it in our faces with the late steals etc. That's the type of loss that can light a fire under you.

Yes. They dont consider the season a failure.

Where are you getting this "most talented team" data from? We were no where near #1 team with lost plauers drafted in 2017 and according to perfect game we have had 1 top 10 class since 2013.

Miles hadn't been the best team in the sec in 5 years.
PM won the hardest conf in the country
3 times since lsu football last won the sec title.

I disagree. Every year there are posters calling for him to be fired. In fact there are more fans tgat don't even care that we consistently win the deepest and toughest conf in the country and we consistently win the hardest conference tourney in the country.
