i think its cuz ppl feel they are payin to see lsu play an opponent that they will blow off the field. and while a few of those may be nice, 4 is kinda much. plus its harder to get amped up for.

I really don't get why people dislike "easy" non conference games
so you'd rather watch LSU vs. North Texas than LSU vs. Va Tech?

so app state is not better than michigan, or even ulm would make for a better team then bama
Posted on 7/25/08 at 6:14 pm to STMtiger
Shoulda gone with lsu vs north texas instead of app state stm. cuz the app state isnt so bad.

I think the fact that every other SEC school plays at least one good OOC game and LSU doesnt is what people dont understand. Why doesnt anyone else have a problem getting decent teams to play?
i think it is because recently no one wanted to play us cus we sucked, now that we are good we can't get other programs to come down here, some games have been scheduled yrs ago that is another reason, and because our other state schools are horrible at football

Worst OOC Schedule in the SEC - IMO
who gives a flying shite about ooc schedules?
do SEC games not count? I'm thinking that by the end of the year we will have played more top 25 teams than nearly every other team in the nation. Just like every year. We will atleast be in the top 10 in that category. And, the only reason we won't be higher is because, unlike every other SEC team, we don't get to play the defending National Champions.
Posted on 7/25/08 at 6:45 pm to KenyB
It is a 2 way street, so just don't say LSU tried and teams wouldn't bite. LSU was probably wanting something ridicolous out of the deal so the other teams didn't take it. LSU needs to do a better job of working good deals and matchups.
Posted on 7/25/08 at 6:54 pm to STMtiger
well since i have been born, some better teams did not want to play us because we sucked and that wasnt a good ticket for them. but now that we are a hot ticket no one wants to play us cus we are just that damn good, and some of the schedules were made years ago

Who cares?!?! (except for the one guy giving his ticks away, but someone els will gladly go)
The buckeyes have proven over and over that the best way to make it to the title game is rack up the most wins, regardless of strength of schedule.
If we win the SEC with 1 or less loss (high hopes I know), I guarantee no one will care that we didn't beat an elite OOC foe. The SEC guantlet is tough enough.

ok look we know our ooc schedule sucks but its not the fans fault. we want big games just as bad as everyone else. but their is nothing weee can do about it. tougher teams might have backed out on us who knows. but we are pissed. although appy state is a good pickup imo
Best thing said in this thread by far. it's not our fault. After the RP situation, i'm not bitching about playing somebody tough this year. I think it's just what the DR. ordered.
These same fans from other school's bitching this year about LSU's schedule will be the same one's saying after they lose one of those tough games "if we didn't play a tough OOC schedule this year, we could have blah, blah, fricking blah." I don't wanna hear it!
I will say this. I always thought it was a mistake playing Tulane for ten fricking years. That's a joke. I know many LSU fans hate tulane. I don't care about them either way. Just think it's a waste of time playing them every year. Nothing against tulane, i'm sure they will get better with their new coach, but it's a boring rivalry. I rather play another mid-major.

Va. Tech came down for a reality check last year.
- Tigers travel to Washington in 2009
And yet, despite playing the toughest competition that agrees to play us year in and year out, somehow our own fans insist on believing that LSU is "afraid" to schedule tough OOC games. It is truly laughable.
If a team actually plays top-10 OOC competition, it is a 100% absolutely proven fact that they are willing to schedule tough OOC competition. Thus, when tough OOC competition fails to appear on the schedule, the explanation is something else. It may be money, scheduling, other teams' reluctance or the tooth fairy. But the one thing it simply cannot be is reluctance on our part. If that were the case, we absolutely would not have had the Hokies in Tiger Stadium last year. Period.

You'll get responses that LSU tried to schedule good teams, but nobody would bite. Simply not true, but most people believe this story coming from the athletic department.
you're incredibly wrong we did everything we could to get Texas tech here but we can't make leach not be a pussy

ok the 2 teams that are being made out to be the MNC favorites and preseason number 1's are florida and georgia. Guess what we play both of them and we play florida in florida. Auburn is top 10 in some polls we play them in jordan-hare. Who cares if we play 4 cupcakes we play 3 top ten teams. I think our SOS will be at least in the top 15. So screw everybody who complains that we take the easy way with OOC. Go look at other teams schedules besides SEC teams and tell me if any of them play 3 top ten teams 2 on the road.
