I must be losing it because I just can't remember this one.

This might always be the worst loss in my book!

'05 UT was a bad loss any way you slice it but the truth is if it were played according to schedule the Tigers win that game easily. FWIW your imaginary comparison loss will not happen. Do to the obvious hurricane factors in '05 I feel that three games, '88 Ohio State, '93 Auburn and '02 Arkansas were much tougher losses to swallow.

the UAB loss was pretty bad too

Call it a silly excuse, but that LSU team was just toooo fired up to start that game and they essentially wore out in the 2nd half. I remember 5-10 guys having to leave the game bc of cramps...

How about all of the Hallman years, end of Archer, and end of Dinardo...however I don't think I missed being in the stadium for any of those games which really made the losses that much worse!
... my how time flies and does make some forget.... the last 10 years have been some kind of FUN...
... with a few recent frustrations, but it could be worse... see beginning of post!

Arkansas in 07 was awful.
And had West Virginia not shite their pants in their last game, we would all regard that game as the the beginning of the end for Miles.
No NC, and a consistent decline since he took over.
Just sayin

Given the circumstances of the loss I have never understood this. I think it is probably the most forgivable loss in LSU history. Worse losses:
Ole Miss 97
UAB
Take your pick 1989-1994 (including several to UT)

hard to swallow originally, but in retrospect there was just too much going on that year and it kind of made it easier to deal with, but it still sucks

I don't understand why people are still so up in arms about this game. Given that the state had just been devestated by katrina AND Rita(people tend to forget about that one), and that the teams schedule had been completely f'd up, I am happy that they were able to compete and give us something to take our minds away from all the shite going on around us.
I admit, at the time I was pissed off, but in retrospect I am more OK with that loss than any other one I can remember. And its not even close.

I was present for the 70 - 3 arse whipping UF put on us in TS when Spurrier was coach.... and WE scored first... then got it handed to us ALL NIGHT LONG -- that's my worst memory as a Tiger fan.

UAB in Sabars first year
SMiss is Curleys last
Miami of Ohio in 85 (?)
are just three that are worse than 05 vs UT

Oh and the "cigar game" with Tubby and players stomping around and ligting stogies on our field is another one that GRATLY eclipses any loss we've ever suffered to TN and especially 2005.

We haven't played 2010 yet. How about losing the Gaytors in 2009?

NO WAY!
It was heartbreaking and disappointing, but I have never ever experienced continuous unbelievable crowd noise as on that night.
Walking down the ramps the chanting of "LSU, LSU LSU" was as full of pride as almost any win.
Our team, coaches, players and fans let it all out that night, and I was never more proud to be a Tiger fan.

Arkansas in 07 was awful.
With everything that was (apparently) at stake that day, the miserable weather, and the length of it made it my personal worst.
And I've witnessed quite a few.
Painful losses that is.
