Now, we've been trash for a long time it didn't just start last week. Woodward did what he had to do to save the Football program.

I don’t think that he “doesn’t care” but this hire has failed badly and the program is now in a shitty situation trying to navigate that contract ($$) and finding a coach who will walk into this mess to fix it

Do you think we are in a better or worse situation than when Wade was fired?

The PMAC was a morgue for women's games before Mulkey arrived.

Once Mulkey retires, the morgue will return. She is such a positive, exciting person, much like Wade, it excites the crowds.
She has always been a person with "IT". Even when she was playing for La Tech. Little Blonde girl with pigtails, running the show. National Champion!

Worse

So it is worse to take over a bad basketball team than to take over a team with a looming NCAA investigation and the entire roster in the portal or going

And my point isn’t that McMahin isn’t bad, so don’t twist this.

My point is, if the expectation for McMahon was make us good in the first 1-2 years because of the portal, what’s different that makes it worse?

It depends on who succeeds her. If Seimone grows into the position, I think it has a good shot to continue at the current pace. I don't think Kim will allow someone to replace her who lets the program go to shite again.

100%

If they nail the next hire and LSU remains top 25 quality, the crowds will still be good, maybe not mulkey good but it just depends on the coach and product. Even during Gunter and pokey days they had nice crowds. Fargas just drove the product into the ground, that’s how it became a morgue

Well there were no sanctions of consequence and we didn’t lose the entire roster. We returned 1 fewer player than the previous season and every single remaining player from the 2021-22 roster was still here when McMahon arrived. Other coaches in the SEC have had 1 year turnarounds. McMahon has had 3 years, 2 top 15 classes, 2 five* kids and at least 5 top 100 players on every roster he’s had here so the jumping off point for him wasn’t as low as some would lead you to believe. The pivot from competitive to bad has been him. Everything else around him hasn’t been nearly as bad as the record suggests.

again, my point isn’t that McMahon shouldn’t be better.

it’s that the situation isn’t worse.

And we could have that here with the right hire.

I think there is a miscommunication here.

If we fired McMahon today we are in a slightly better situation that when we fired Wade.

Roster Turnover is a double edged sword. We would lose players but could also bring in better players quickly.

and we don’t have a NCAA investigation scaring off potential coaches.

I didn’t mean to seem like I was attacking you Sammy. I guess I overloaded the info because I wasn’t quite sure what you meant exactly. The status of the program is worse right now because of the losing compared to 5 straight winning seasons and top 5 SEC finishes prior. I agree with you that it could be turned around quickly though but we need a plan first then a coach and I’m not sure if that’s the way the uppers are looking at it.
