wondering if anyone else noticed this play?

I was in attendance at the game and I believe it was close to half time. It was 3rd down and long.
I noticed number 15 coming into the game for the first time and wasn't sure who that was but soon thought that it was Dupre.
The play was a drop back pass by Jennings and he immediately looked in the direction of Dural who, for one of the few times, was covered very well.
On the left side of the field, I had locked my eyes onto Dupre to see how he would do. He beat his guy off the line and within 20 yards was easily 10 yards past the defender.
Jennigs made the force throw, which was a go route, into Dural and it ended in an incomplete pass.
A couple things I took away from that play. Dupre looks to be as advertised, with the way he quickly beat that defender and along with his late touchdown catch, and I would like to see Jennings work through his progressions if his first option is covered. I thought he forced some throws into coverage, rather than work through his progressions reads.
Anyway, it was the second game and I was just happy to see that LSU didn't play down to the competition, which has sometimes been the case.

No one has mentioned it yet, but Leonard fournette did a hybrid Heisman pose with both hands doing the buga sign

Jesus man, Jennings and Dural have obvious chemistry so every fan thinks we should stop throwing to him...
Ever heard of not out thinking yourself?

I know the exact play you're talking about. Dupre absolutely burned that guy.

I agree with the OP. Dupre was wide open down the seam on that play, and Jennings missed him and threw to the outside for an incomplete pass to Dural.

The chemistry is obvious but that shouldn't cause him to throw to a covered received when another one is wide open.
I know Jennings is still young and will continue to improve and I like what I see but I am just throwing out some constructive criticism.
I'm sure the coaches, in film review, may point out that exact play to him.

will be a good teaching opportunity for Cam in the film room...

I'm sure on that play he made the wrong decision, I'm not saying Jennings is perfect but I dk why anyone would want him to throw to Dural less, considering 100% of his catches last night went for TDs

That play just happened on the replay.

I'm definitely not advocating throwing less to Dural, just advocating read progression. That will come with greater experience.

Its at the 2:25ish mark in the 2nd QTR.

I think we did that like 3 or 4 times in the 2nd half, not always to Dural though.
With receivers like Diarse and Quinn, we should be able to be very successful on 3rd and intermediate.

Good point. Last year it was Jarvis and Odell who were the go-to guys. But against Arkansas, before they ran the game-winning play, the coaches told AJ to look for Odell coming across the field, but to keep an eye out for Dural in case they let him go. They did. He did. And we won. So the kid sure seems to be coachable.

It was Landry coming across....Odell didn't play due to injury.

Also on that same play the TE was wide open down the middle of the field..Would have been a easy pass and cathch for a TD

Here is why you don't want that happening (and yes, that means throwing less to Rural). Every SEC DC will have the video and will be baiting the soph. to make that throw. From the stands it is obvious that he is staring Dural down and not working through his progressions. However, I have no doubt that Cam will get it fixed. But Jennings better hurry up and "get it". Harris on the roll out is money.

My friend and I watched that exact play the same way you did. Dupree had the man beat from jump. Pretty amazing talent he's going to be

Chemistry is great but u won't win championships by having chemistry with only 1 receiver. Gotta spread the love.

We saw Dupre come in. That was his first play. We thought they would throw to him. Instead they let him listen up and run a few times before they called his number.
Also when Harris came in they called a few running plays and a quarterback keeper before calling a pass, to let him warm up.
Coaches know what they are doing.
