Jordan Jefferson is NOT good. He is NOT an SEC quarterback. Get over it guys.

He was better his Sophomore season than JaMarcus Russell was his Sophomore season.

I hope you're around next year if/when he proves you wrong.

He could be. Not by himself. He needs lots of help and hasn't gotten a lot of it. He isn't going to be all SEC under the current staff.

JJ as a starter is 9-5. Not bad, but not great. Will see next year what happens. He hasn't had anyone to learn under, either incumbent QB or coaching staff.

Songy is 100% correct, the young man does not have it mentally to get it done.

The problem for the past 2 years has been (and unfortunately likely will continue to be) Les and GC trying to put a square peg through a round hole. In 2007 GC was the "wizard" because he had a 5th year senior who could understand all the nuances of his gameplan and an OL that could block for an eternity while his slow to develop passing routes were run.
We lost both the experienced QB and fantastic OL and GC FAILED TO ADJUST. This has been his failure. Instead of greatly scaling back the playbook and adjusting the routes to shorter ones he continued on as if the players were the same. Whether this is from stubbornness or an inability to grasp the situation, I don't know. JL was thrown to the lions with the playcalling and likely ruined. JJ is terrified of throwing an INT and waits until the WR is wide open before throwing the ball- hence the sacks and pulling it down and running.
If GC stays (and I pray he doesn't), he needs to gear the playcalling to our personnel and not vice-versa. If our OL is having problems pass-protecting, shorten the routes. If we are having problems run-blocking, use the Wildcat with extra blockers, but for the love of God don't keep doing the same thing and expect a different result.

STFU already. You've said enough about this already. You don't have it mentally to stop bashing a 19 year old kid.

football awareness

letting the clock run down at the end of the bowl game, running out of bounds for a loss instead of throwing the ball away, rarely stepping up in the pocket and most often backing into the outside rush for an easy sack, holding the ball way too long on almost every pass play.

Throwing the ball is atheletic ability. Knowing game situations and how to play the position of QB is "football awareness". Not that hard to understand.

i dont know how anyone can point the finger anywhere near JJ for this offenses performance this season.. plain and simple if you cant run the ball you are basically giving games away in the SEC (especially with an inexperienced QB).. Play action is suppose to be a young QBs best friend yet without any threat of an action to play off he's basically having to carry this offense by himself.. thats asking too much of any player going into their second year, let alone a 19 yr. old QB.. until we get back to the type of physicall football this program was built on its gonna be the same story year after year..

I'll be around, and I'll let you know when he stinks it up for another 2 years. He's another Marcus Randall.

ding ding ding. good post. though IMO Lee had a good OL and decent routes to work with, he just had a little too much confidence in his ability to fit the ball into a tight spot, and an OC that never seemed to adjust for this and sometimes make safer play calls (like calling a run or a screen sometimes, Gary).

So not knowing where to throw the ball is good "football awareness?" You said Lee's was fine.

But will your dumb arse be around if JJ wins the West next year and we're in Atlanta again? I doubt it.

If you think we're gonna win the West next year with JJ and this same coaching staff, you're a dumb mf.

Now this is proof of just how deluded some LSU fans are. Anybody who thinks LSU has any chance of ever winning the SEC West again while either Les Miles OR Jordan Jefferson is still in the role he is currently in, is beyond help.

Don't worry about trying to get help, MightyYat, just drink more. Might as well enjoy your blissful ignorance.

He is stupid. There's no soft way of putting that, and no way to sugar-coat it so that it sounds better. He happens to be a sophomore, but that is irrelevant. He's stupid as a sophomore, he'll be stupid as a senior, he was stupid as a freshman, he was stupid in kindergarten and he'll be stupid 10, 30 and 50 years from now.

Yikes. You sound like JJ fricked your mom and your sister right in front of you. I wonder if you'd step out from behind the keyboard and tell Jefferson he's stupid to his face.

You can frick yourself and go find another team. It must suck to live your life hoping to fail.
