We don't need to hire anymore 60+ year old coaches. It's time to go out and get a younger person who can build the program, establish continuity, and stay for a long time. Barmore or Blair is not the answer.

I like this. Just read an article on ESPN.com about her this morning; seems like she could reinvigorate the program. She's probably a stretch given what she's doing in LA, but if we're going to throw good money at a new coach, I don't think it's impossible to lure her back to SEC country if we make the right offer.

Good coach, but I really have a feeling that unless Geno Auriemma or Pat Summitt mysteriously become available, LSU will hire a woman as its next coach...

Apparently you missed the night we played Baylor in 2006 and her tirade with Pokey Chatman afterwards.

Perhaps you missed the part where she didn't like Pokey because of the Hightower recruitment--nothing to do with LSU.

Actually Nikki wouldn't be a bad choice...............and she's the most beautiful head coach in college sports.
Uh ... okay, she's statuesque and nicely built.
But I really think the bolded is a bit of a stretch.

Won't she take the Tennessee job someday when Pat Summit retires?

Uh..................no
It isn't.
Well, at least not for college basketball.

Watching press conference, it appears that Van was forced to "resign".
Van Chancellor / Joe Alleva Press Conference
The funny thing is, they could barely describe what Chancellor's new "duties" as associate AD were gonna be.
We know he'll be playing golf though.

LSU should consider Kristi Curry of Texas Tech. She's a LA native having played at ULM and was an assistant at La Tech and Tulane. As an assistant at Purdue, they won a national championship and as their head coach, she led them to the national championship game.

I think my mom worked with Kim Mulkey's mom at the AT&T in Hammond.
I can top that: Kim Mulkey hit me with a bean ball in Hammond Little League baseball and knocked me out for a few seconds. I never heard the end of that.

I guess it is a sign of how far Van has let the program slip, that some of these names may be a bit on the unrealistic side.
I'd love to see Caldwell or Curry in Baton Rouge.
But I think as far as someone we have a realistic shot to get, that would do very well in Baton Rouge with the talent LSU could recruit--would be Lisa Stockton of Tulane.

Throw the money at Barmore, he might come back to La. He's a Ruston native, not South La./BR area. He's smart as heck, eats, sleeps, breaths BB. Hire him , now.
He is also a cocky, arrogant frick who thinks his stuff don't stink. LSU can do better.

Barmore's time has passed.
Rather than go this direction, just keep Chancellor.
It's time to bring LSU WBB into the 21st century.
Hire a younger, up-and-coming coach.

Watch the Florida State vs Samford game on Sunday and you will see the best young coach in the women's game. Mike Morris has literally built the Samford program from nothing. He beat Ole Miss last year in the NIT and took Samford to the NCAA for the first time in school history. They spanked Clemson this year and played Texas Tech right to the wire.

So this would make her hate LSU? If anyone has any substantial proof that she hates LSU, GTFO!
