He's currently the head coach of the team but it doesn't surprise me that it has to be explained to you on a daily basis.

I was very disappointed in the performance of the dL. I thought they would be good. They were bad

To an extent it's about the Jimmy and Joe's. Once you have them then it's all about the x's and o's and teaching the details/tricks of the trade. Putting them in advantage situations on both sides of the ball. I've seen it many times when less talented teams beat a superior team because they were outcoached.

They were average to begin with. They played at an average or below average all season.

I thought the dline was good. We had decent depth and fairly good front line talent, especially once Alexander got healthier. Our problem, except the Aggie game in which our DBs were depleted, was offence. And the offensive talent was weak.

Yes. Dline was very underwhelming. I think we all thought Feheko, Alexander and Lawrence would be far better than Lac, Gilmore and Lawrence.
But those 3 Dline (2017) combined for 15 sacks. Our entire Dline has 9.5 this year. I realize we had a better "supporting" cast of edge rushers last year but, if nothing else, there should have been coverage sacks all over the place. I think O definitely needs to step up at that spot for sure. Or hire someone who will.

Do you feel these guys performed to the expectations or underperformed?
Under.

Talent is SEC level mediocre.

Dennis Johnson (Never should've been hired) is not experienced enough a DL Coach to get the most out of the available talent. Not qualified for this level of competition.

That's my main problem with Orgeron. There's way too many BBQ Buddies on the Staff. He hires "Friends" instead of going out and looking for the best available assistant coaches. (The exact opposite of what Saban does)

This technique will never produce any kind of Championship at LSU. I'll be perpetual 8-9 win seasons and a Consolation Participation Bowl because the available talent will never be fully developed to the full potential.

I do not have a personal agenda to bash Orgeron. Despite what the village idiots tell you, it's simply not true.

I did not like the hire. I do not believe Orgeron can lead LSU to be consistently where we hope they would be. I think there are major concerns on the offensive side of the ball, and I don't have much faith those concerns will be corrected.

However, I think taking the season in as a whole, LSU had a great season. A top 10 finish, 10-3 (if they beat UCF) and a NY6 bowl is nothing to be pissed off about at all. I think Orgeron deserved SEC coach of the year. He also showed flashes of putting it all together (see Georgia). Recruiting seems to be great.

There are plenty of positives, and I recognize them, and give Orgeron his credit for them. However, I think it's foolish to ignore the issues. If that means I have an anti-Orgeron agenda, then so be it.
