The last time the Raiders had the #1 pick was 19 years ago, where they selected none other than LSU QB Jamarcus Russell. The coach of the Raiders? Lane Kiffin.

What are the odds we get Jamarcus and Kiffin in the same room again at some point?

Lane didn't want to draft him… But he was forced to

Source? I’d be very surprised if this is true, but I’m no insider

And now some GM will lose their career over Fernando Mendoza

It won’t matter who the Raiders select, they suck and the pick will become irrelevant.

Diego Pavia would be the most “Raiders” pick ever.

Raiders have no choice but to draft a QB.

Russell was a freak at LSU. At the time, the pick seemed expected. It was unfortunate that he never lived up to his potential as a pro. And it was unfortunate that the 2006 LSU team was cheated out of a championship. They were bad arse!

one of my buddies who was a fan of Miami was hoping they would get Russell. He brought up all the 4th quarter come backs Russell had! I told him he had a ten million dollar arm attached to a ten cent brain and he wouldn't have all of those come backs if:
A. He didn't suck the first 3 quarters
And
B. He didn’t have 3 first round WRs to throw to!
