Winning the SEC Championship

Is it a fair statement to say winning the SEC Championship is more difficult than winning the National title most years? I’m not saying it is but there’s an argument to be made it might be.

Maybe...

But if you look at rankings, the history of the SEC CG, it is rare both teams are ranked in the Top 10, much less the top 5.

CFP you have to beat 2 of the Top 4.


Now you could pivot your argument that it is much more difficult to GET to the SEC Championship than some of those same teams in the Top 4 of the CFP.

Yeah that’s what I was getting at, the whole process of getting to the championship game and winning it.

Which accounts for why the NC has been dominated by SEC teams for the last 20+ years. You have to be really good to make it to the SECCG and win it.
