cool thing about sports, the game is played on the field and the best team doesnt always win

That's why they play a best 2 of 3 series.

For whatever reason, a lot of you don't want to give LSU credit for showing tremendous poise in game 1 by hitting home runs in the 9th, 10th and 11th innings. People want to somehow say LSU didn't deserve to win or got lucky. If LSU hits those homeruns, say, in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th innings, and then goes on to win in extra innings, many of you would be singing a different tune. Both teams have played well so far, but neither has demonstrated it is clearly the best. The winner of tonight's game will have earned the right to say they were better.

I knew the children/internet tough guys would blow this one up. Here's a novel idea - just accept someone's opinion for what it is, while resisting the urge to insert foot in pie hole. 77 to 90 percent of you couldn't describe a single academic building on campus, because you simply did not attend LSU.

At the moment, If one had just these two games to go on, I would agree with the OP. Two games however, do not make a season. I think LSU's body of work to be just a wee bit more impressive than the fine conference Stony Brook plays in.

I do agree with him on this - should they win - I'm, pulling for them - they seem to be a loose bunch of guys.

What does this have anything to do with the thread?

Just curious.

This has actually been more fun than I thought it would be.

Forum: a meeting place for an open discussion.

This sure has been an "open" discussion.

Since when does being the better team even matter? All that matters is who wins. As long as we win I don't give a shite how much better any team is. Screw being better, I want to win! Winning is much much more fun than being better.

I sure hope LSU wins.

Just to state the obvious- they sure gave our top pitchers some trouble- Gausman gave up some hits and a homer; Nola gave up a dozen or so hits; Goody gave up a run in a tight spot.

Now we throw out some "lesser" pitchers against their bats. We might be in some trouble here

the same gausman who got the win in game one..

and had a no no thru about 5 innings until the rain started coming down?

they ha 6 fricking hits yesterday. 6.

we just happen to have 3.

LSU won the 1st game. lost the 2nd and should win the 3rd.
