I always loved these takes

“All he can do is recruit! He can’t coach”
“His players aren’t good!” Well then how does he keep winning with these crappy players then?

I honestly don’t think he’ll continue to build rosters like this

How did you come to this opinion? If Vitale doesn’t pull his BS from last season, we land Cisse. He has shown a constant ability to recruit talent, despite the negative press from Vitale and Yahoo over the last 24 months.

I’m talking about taking 4-5 transfers a year. I don’t think he will build classes around them. But rather use them supplementally. A program under this model will lack stability in the long run.

I would agree, but this is college basketball this year and potentially moving forward. I think Florida has taken in 6 transfers this year.

It's what the college game has morphed into- most likely PERMANENTLY. When players are allowed to transfer without sitting out, most will leave for a place to showcase themselves at the drop of a hat. You're not that in touch with reality. Luckily for LSU fans, The General is.

This will be normal from here on out. I LOVED the early Dale days when you signed a kid and had him for 4 years. I remember when it was earth shattering news that Dwayne Scales was declaring hardship and entering the draft after 3 years. Over time, players were allowed to leave early, and here we are now, where they can transfer with no questions asked. I for one, am THRILLED Wade is navigating us through this.

Again, hyperbolic.

I’m certain you are wrong. Wade is going to want to keep taking kids out of high school. He just so happened to get caught with his pants down this year.

No. Someone stole his pants last recruiting cycle.

Lester, when you are a college basketball player, if you don't get pt at the school you chose, you are most likely gonna be unhappy. Now the NCAA comes along and says you can transfer with no roadblocks.

Most guys will enter the portal and find a place to play instead of sitting on the bench at LSU. It MIGHT settle a bit after a year or two, but these rosters will be turning over CONSTANTLY from now on. Especially at LSU where Wade signs guys mostly in the top 100 in their recruiting class.

It appears to me Wade is adapting to this. Hell, I bet he's identified potential transfers for NEXT summer, because he knows some players on this year's team will become disgruntled. He need to stay at LSU for 20 more years.

One more thing. I think Wade does want to keep taking top HS players. I never said I think he wants to build a team of 13 transfers. But he is ready, willing, and able to take as many as he needs to so we stay competitive.

Lester FOOL...in your small mind, you are ALWAYS right ! When overwhelmingly PROVEN wrong, you generally double down or worse...disappear/no comment, for a short time !
Adults should have the capacity of introspection i.e. the ability to discern their own faults/errors/moments of great stupidity. you have had more than your share of such instances here...WHY are you still unable to learn/recognize the obvious signs ?

I’ve been wrong about a lot of things. Nothing that you’ve ever argued with me about

The days of building a program under the model of the past are gone.
With the "transfer portal" model, now in place, no team is immune to losing player from season to season.
The coach who can identify his team's weakness, and plug in stars from other teams will be the star of the future.
I like our chances with Wade.

That's great, but I'm kinda getting Dale Brown vibes with WW...i.e. Brings in the talent, but can't coach for shite. Our team was loaded with talent this year, but couldn't play defense if their lives depended on...ALL EFFIN' SEASON. I'm concerned that the guy can't coach.

Dude, what are you talking about? in the '20 class, he told 2 kids to stay back for a grad year/wait a year to play. Then he went out (knowing this was part of the strategy) and landed some elite transfers, and still looking at more.

If you haven't paid attention to basketball recruiting, just say so. Every class but one, Wade has essentially over recruited and had kids transfer in/transfer out It's how he's built the program since the day he got here, and it's worked pretty damn well. It's also very funny how you're intentionally ignoring the Vitale stuff that happened two cycles in a row.

You're acting like the season ended and Wade just said "oh no! everyone is leaving! what will I do!!" when it was blatantly obvious he was going the transfer route this year.

Important get with huge upside. Very similar to Bryce Brown from Auburn a couple years ago.
