I'd love to hear your specific thoughts on what constitutes good defense.

It can be as complicated as you want it to be. Bad defenses usually aren't complicated and good ones are.

A good start is just holding players accountable first and foremost for their defensive effort regardless of their superstar offensive status.

I think the Alabama coach has already benched three starters this year -- Petty among them -- for lack of defensive intensity. They were pretty poor defensively last year but seem to have improved dramatically.

Process this, Wade will run this program into the ground and leave it in the same or worse shape than he found it.

And when that doesn’t happen I can all but guarantee you won’t admit you were wrong.

I wouldn’t go that far. He is a very good recruiter but he has done nothing at LSU so far to warrant being called great. Has he even won a post season game yet?

He is a great recruiter to get these kids to come to LSU but his coaching is average at best

You mean besides inheriting the worst Conf record in program history and winning an SEC title in year 2 or surpassing the alltime SEC win% in program history by more than 10% or the overall win% also by 10% or having the best start to a career in program history?

Probably 76% right... it does not explain LSU shooting 38%. And it does not explain the first five minutes of pretty much uncontested 3 pointers. Many defenses engage the offense outside the three point line. LSU does not.

Whatever, I played college ball... I would shoot the pretty much uncontested 22/23 footer all night long.

We knew what Alabama does. We let them do it.

You are probably right that shooting like that they win anyway... our soft defense allowed the momentum.

He took a Terrible team and got them into the NIT. He won the SEC even with all the yahoo sports stuff. He recruits and he’s building. He isn’t above criticism but overrated is a stretch.
