With a 12 team playoff, conference championship games should be eliminated. Conferences are basically just eliminating teams that would normally be getting in.

Winner of the conference gets an auto bid, and I'd imagine it will end up being winner of the 4 major conferences get the byes.

You could end up with an 8-0 team vs a 6-2 in Atlanta if it's the top two teams. Maybe a mismatch like what we saw in the Big XII this year-- Texas vs Okie State
