Will split Public/Private football affect LSU recruiting?

I have heard that splitting the state high school football school can change the way football is recruited and played in the state. Some people have attributed Tennessee's demise to their high schools splitting. If that is true, do you see this affecting LSU in a similar fashion or do we, as LSU fans, never see any repercussions of this?

No.

Lol. A state without much talent, multiple SEC schools, and shitty coaching will do that to you

Why? are players gonna not be as good because the schools are split? Doubtful.

Also, is this happening because they have talked about it for years.

Tennessee has never had much football talent, and it's due to demographics, not how the HS's run their football playoffs. Texas also has separate leagues, and it doesn't hurt the talent level. I don't see LSU being affected at all.

I think it will have a negative effect by watering down the competition.

LSU signs most of its players from public schools, not the handful of football factories.

The way I understand it the split is for the playoffs only. The select and non-select teams will still play each other in the regular season.

No. The split is for playoffs only. Catholic High still gets to play all the local public schools during the regular season.

So the most important part of the season?? I could see it affecting interest long term. Just not on the same scale as Tennessee

if schools leave the LHSAA it will definitely affect recruiting. the top schools need to play each other to get accurate evaluations on the talent

I don't even know about that anymore. So much of the recruiting process is based on evaluations at camps. Didn't that WR from Curtis get an offer from LSU this past summer at a camp? Same with Brumfield from University Lab. Obviously he dominates the 190 lb D-linemen at Dunham and Episcopal, so I am guessing the coaches mainly based their evaluation of him from things besides game film.

The people saying this are private school people who are upset. LA talent is not Tenn talent. Louisiana will be fine. The only split is in the playoffs. Many of these teams will still play each other.

Don't think it will affect recruiting, but I think it is a really stupid idea. Doesn't seem like there are enough private schools for this.
5A Catholic should still play the public schools in playoffs. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

This is true. As an example, Class 5A teams can play schools from any other classification during the regular season, but only play other 5A schools in the playoffs. By allowing regular season competition to remain open, the LHSAA has put the private schools into their own classification where they will, presumably, compete for state titles against schools that have the same enrollment practices.
