Possible excuse for referring to the great Bo Jackson in this manner? Yes, could be.

I'd still cast my vote for Cassanova.

There is no best athlete because we all have our favorites and predjudices, but Tommy Casanova was truly the best guy I ever saw. Never got to see him up close and personal in Tiger stadium. I had to settle for occasional tv games and highlights, but he was extraordinary. He played defense and offense when needed, and he ran back kicks. Patrick Peterson reminds me of him.

Still, the greatest athlete to ever wear the Purple and Gold. Was freaky fast, and was not afraid to knock the crap out of someone.

PP is the biggest, strongest, fastest athlete at LSU that I have ever seen. I don't think casanova was as fast. Casanova could flat out hit harder. PP times at 4.37 . I wonder what Casanova could have run.

Yes PP is great--but remember Cannon won the Heisman and also threw either the shot put or discus plus was a runner in track also.

Bo Jackson ran a 4.12 in the 40 at the NFL combine. He still holds 5 HS state decathalon records in Alabama (His point leads were so great he didnt even have to do the one mile event) and qualified in the 100 meter as a freshman and sophmore in college (Not bad for a 222 lb guy). Bo once even considered trying out for the US olympic team.

We all know what he did as a two star athlete in college and pros...........401 batting average, 600 ft home run blasts, All Star, Pro Bowl, Heisman ect ect.

PP =/= Bo Jackson

Based purely on athleticism, someone like Bo only comes around once every few generations.

Since you said greatest ATHLETE ever at LSU, my vote would have to go to The Pistol.....

Having said that, I believe Patrick will surely go down in history as being cut from the same cloth. The guy really is amazing.....

What in the frick is wrong with these people?! Is he even a better DB than Eric Berry? Joe Haden? Corey Webster? I mean 2003 was a shut-down defense for us. PP bites prematurely on routes from time to time. He's great and all, but I haven't seen such a hype machine at LSU in all my life.

His first home run set a record in royals stadium. Almost 500 ft with a wooden bat. He holds the record in 4 different pro parks. He was rumored to hit close to 600 with an aluminum in college.

I love PP, but lets not compare him to Bo Jackson.....I mean I know the return game will help separate him this year, but how much better is he than Corey Webster was at CB??
