Honest question, yall think Nussmeier will ever start at QB for LSU? With Brennan coming back next year and Howard likely ready to go in 2023, it puts Nuss in an interesting place and I can't see a spot in which he would start for LSU.

Sucks because this dude seems super dedicated to LSU, I wouldn't be upset if he beats Brennan for the job next year.

He should have played last night. Just cannot fathom what he thinks he would have wasted not getting to play in 2025.

Right now? And go into next year with a true freshman and often injured Senior? That's a great plan and a good way to end up in the situation we were in last night. Again. Brilliant.

I think the answer is "no".
Maybe the Nussmeier family made this decision, and they have every right to do so. But it raises all sorts of questions, which have been aired here, many of which do not flatter Nuss as a person and teammate.
Some have speculated that maybe Brad Davis or BK made the decision. If that is so, somebody should speak up in fairness to the player, because the appearances of his not playing to save a redshirt makes no sense to many, if not most.
He looks selfish and like a bad team player as it is, unless there is a bigger story to be told. if so, I hope someone tells it.

Such a confusing decision regardless of redshirt. You have a primetime slot in a bowl game to start and showcase your talent to the team, the new head coach, and the entire country.

Why in the world would you pass that up??

I really hope not! I wish the young man the best. I just hope he finds and school and a group of team mates worthy of a sacrifice on his part.

I know he did what was best for him and the game was meaningless. I get that!

Good question

I hope it never comes to a situation whereas he has to.

Disagree. The lineup has too many holes. Transfer spot would be better utilized at another position. We're good with Myles, Nuss, and Walker for next year. Now the following year, yeah, may need one.

It’s not speculation. Brad Davis said in his post-game presser last night that it was his decision. He wasn’t going to ask Nuss to burn the redshirt because he would never ask a player to do something he wouldn’t ask his own kids to do.

How do we know he passed it up. Decision may have come from Kelly/Davis.

Yes. Brennan will get hurt 2nd or 3rd game. Brennan heals very slowly. Nuss will play.
