Will NIL end the the signing day flip?

For the bigger name prospects, I imagine a verbal commitment also comes with signing a NIL contract. Does that mean the end of verbal commitments flipping on signing day?

Why would they sign a NIL deal before a LOI. Another place could come in with a better offer last minute

wrong. Why would Gordon Mckernan (or others) sign a written contract to pay an 18yo kid based on a verbal contract? Should not be getting paid until they sign an NLI.
didn't A&M learn this the hard way with Eric Dickerson/SMU?

Probably the opposite. School doesn't get their backup plan so they come up with a bigger bag to get the guy they really wanted.

I`m of the opinion that you won`t see BK going after
money grabbers. He`s not going to play that game.

No, could make it worse. Can't sign NIL deals until you're signed with a university. Bids go up in crunch time. Happened in last year's class. Lots of flips.

Happened with Jacoby Mathews last year. LSU had pen almost to paper, 8&4 came in with a ridiculous NIL offer at the last minute…it’ll happen

Kids cannot sign NIL deals until they are fully registered and attending classes.

sure they can as the NIL deals are not tied to a player playing for a specific school. However, it would be bad business for a company/NIL entity to pay a player based on a verbal commitment.
i.e. per LHSAA rules, Arch Manning could sign an NIL deal with Nike tomorrow. Regardless if he goes to UT or somewhere else.

Kids thinking they can leave after getting paid better think twice. Some rich people are connected.

I'm sure its illegal for one of the contract clauses to say:
"In exchange for X dollars, you will do the following:
- attend X university"
But could someone get creative and say:
"In exchange for X dollars, you will do the following:
- live in the city of X where company X is located"

For some reason I think I recall NIL cannot be executed before signing. I certainly could be wrong.

No. It will increase them. Look what happened with the Pontchatoula DB last year. The bidding war went on to the last minute.

I think it ends getting big time prospects on the early December signing day.
Big fish will hold out for the big NIL deals until February.

Yep, I'm positive Jalen Brown turned down all the money from Miami to come to LSU because he "wants to be a Tigah" and really loves Baton Rouge and feels a deep connection to Brian Kelly.
There's no way we paid him, none

Additionally, it would be a level one recruiting violation. It’s amazing how many people don’t understand NIL.

Nico Iamaleava is already making 6 figures before he starts his senior year
quote:
On Friday, a five-star recruit in the Class of 2023 signed an agreement with a school’s NIL collective that could pay him more than $8 million by the end of his junior year of college, The Athletic has learned. He’ll be paid $350,000 almost immediately, followed by monthly payouts escalating to more than $2 million per year once he begins his college career, in exchange for making public appearances and taking part in social media promotions and other NIL activities “on behalf of (the collective) or a third party.”

Nope, see the kid from ponchatoula last year. A&M will have like 5-8 commits and buy another class come signing day. You don’t have to be good or recruit well, you just have to be the highest bidder. How can you blame those kids? A degree is a degree, in the working world, no one gives a shite from where. Get what you can while you can.
