So Stingley didn't play at all? Thought he started as a Freshman

Basically my reply to him. That’s why I think all this NIL balances out in the end. You can still only sign so many and have only so many starters. Plus not all 5* pan out even if you landed all the top guys.

This will also put more of a focus on developing your talent. You take that 4* guy maybe 3* borderline and develop him to kick arse!!

Hell, it’s possible to create one without NIL based on the 2019 season.

I think NIL will create super problems. Those who play with heart will beat those who play for cash.

Bama is already a super team.

this, and Texas and aTm could be manned with the roster of the goat NFL team on a yearly basis and could find a way to frick that up

This is seriously a terrible take on the motivation of a 5* players. Players want to play.

Apparently Stingley and Ricks didn't, I have serious doubt if either of them had any kind of a real injury at least not something to keep them from playing. Both are soft

Just like Kentucky in basketball is the measuring stick in SEC hoops, Bama has almost always been that in SEC football. Some of you may be too young to remember Bear Bryant. That was in the day you could sign 50 or more players. But Bear and Saban ruled the SEC

we've already have had super teams, for the past 5 years, it's just the NIL is going to make it worse

DON'T WATCH THE PLAYOFF UNTIL THINGS CHANGE, viewership drives money into the system, bombing ratings will be a good way to facilitate change

This NIL crap is starting to make SMU's slush fund of the early 80's look like mild child's play, minus the 5 dead hookers on campus of course.

It surely could. What if mark zuckerberg was a big fan of (name any school) and decided to give every player a million bucks, would he not get the best players across the US???

Just look at what's happening. Deep pockets are "relative to (Saban)" the top teams. TX, TXA&M are leading the pack. The NIL WILL KIL THE NCAA.

A bit off topic, but I wonder how prevalent Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency assets are being used as a way of pay-to-play?

I thought you had to be really smart to get accepted into both Tx schools?

Dude is soft as charmin.
Wouldn’t be surprised if he winds up being a bust.
But some franchise will pay him handsomely.

Yankees of the south. If you can't win a NC, you buy one. Salary cap anyone?

And sadly we will not be one of them. NIL will kill college football as we know it.

I kinda doubt our past success was because we didn't meet the market when it came to using $$ to recruit players. I'm not sure how that would change now that the money is somewhat more above board. It may just take awhile for us to set up the infrastructure because the last regime was distracted and the coaching change is necessarily disruptive.

Heck, I think I saw an article where Gordon McKernan is already chomping at the bit to get involved. I'm sure there are many others.
