Beyond shitty timing for this to come out in an ungodly recruiting year.

NCAA can't touch Miles or LSU... but the negative recruiting is going to be widespread, IMO. Something Miles is going to have to waste time accounting for instead of selling our program.

I have a feeling they mean "directly implicated". He's absolutely guilty by association if his people were operating these incentives programs and other pay programs with or without his knowledge. If the stories are true and Gundy didn't know, you have to wonder just how blind and/or stupid he had to be.

No one will negative recruit anymore than they already were and it won't be anymore effective. This story's lame and SI really did themselves a disservice by dragging it out for a week because it'll just exemplify how flimsy it is.

Yeah, some 18yr old guy is going to really hate to play for a guy accused of giving access to money, grades and sex. Now momma is a different story.

True. But it also doesn't give much credibility to the article slamming Thayer Evans. Whitlock is just as guilty of the very types of criticisms he makes against Evans.

Not even close. Thayer Evans is a way bigger hack. Whitlock is opinionated and obviously has disagreeing topics with you and others.

But Evans is a true hack through and through. His whole career is fulled with shadiness. Even his personal life

The "4-year statute" has an exception... Any blatant rule-breaking, (if the reports are true, then this certainly is "blatant"), can be investigated and is punishable.

OK... so does that mean that AU and MSU are still not in the clear for trying to buy Cam Newton from his dad - or is that not blatant enough.

The real problem with this is the ridiculous media coverage this BS will get for the next 5 weeks, not some investigative tour de force by the nation's new age Keystone Kops - the NCAA.

It's going to take the NCAA a long time to investigate this assuming they will conduct numerous interviews. Better get used to this being in the news.

Dohrmann said they implicated Les by talking about his opening up of the locker rooms etc... to boosters and the allegation that he sent the one kid to the female booster who overpaid the kid for work. I don't see anything there myself. If that's all they have on Les, they've got the big zero.

It won't be in the news long. Even old fuddy duddy Bill Plaschke described this story as a yawn on Around the Horn. OSU might investigate but you won't be hearing what they find.

ESPN Radio already advertising on air that Herbie and Co will discuss whether Les needs to punished. Awesome...so before all details break we will discuss punishments? This is the issue...ESPN will blow it up, it makes Les look bad...and LSU, and it's another season of adversity.

Wonder if this "pushes" Fournette to Bama

Randy Cross just said on FS1 CFB roundup (with Ron Zook amongst others) that Les Miles should be very nervous right now since most of the "bad stuff" seems to have happened while he was there.

Herbie is probably about to wet his pants with excitement having been made a fool by Les.

Best thing that could've happened to the team. They'll rally behind Les.

Were you EVER a teenager? Do your parents know everything you did?

Were/Are you a parent of a teenager? Do you think you really know EVERYTHING that goes on? You MAY THINK you do but do YOU REALLY KNOW?

Did not knowing make your parents blind or stupid? Does not knowing make you blind or stupid?

You set parameters and rules and consequences. You daily actions teach---sometimes the lesson isn't learned and there is another agenda that isn't your agenda.

My question is: Who is behind this? The media has been after LSU for sometime now, so ask who is really behind these types of hack jobs. Is it the fricking gumps, is it OU trying to knock down OSU, and also Thayer does he have some kind of agenda that can be exposed. Someone is going after Les Miles in my eyes and wants to take down LSU with him.

It's a pretty strange scenario if you think about it. This story is about events so long ago that its pretty much irrelevant news. So old that there arent even NCAA or legal statues that apply. It's only purpose is to hurt two programs that threaten OU and Bama. I'd love to see thayers checking acct.

At some point in time LSU will have to address the situation. There has been a big shift in the past few years to make head coaches more accountable, so expect to media to pounce on Miles. No matter what, you can’t just say you were unaware, that in itself is incriminating. This wont go away lightly.

It needs to be addressed yes. It needs to be fought, who has the motive after all this time. Investigate Thayer and his sources and find out how much they were paid. Noone on fricking ESPN is talking about the players that call those sources liars. Thayer and fricking SI need to be exposed for the fricking hacks they are. On ESPN they were saying well SI has lawyers so it must be true. Really because lawyers never lie or represent liars. I really wish there was a way to fight these fricks.
