This Miles stuff has got to stop. He is gone fired done. Enough. We have a game to win and a season to play. Miles is in the past. Please move on.

If you don't like answers like that then dont start retarded threads like this. WHY under any circumstances would we honor someone that we just fired? Please tell me when someone was honored 6 days after they were fired...I'll wait...

Like Ancient Egyptians, his face will be taken off everything. Not really.

I seem to remember Alleva relieving Miles of his coaching duties. Some may interpret that as "being fired", but people in the Federal Government get relieved of duties occasionally but still work for the Government. I know LSU is not the Federal government, but it happens in various organizations. I do know that several others (our president, for example) will be relieved of duties in the next few months but not fired...
-------
Yeah well since he's being paid "Liquidated Damages", it's called "Termination Without Cause".

I like the incentives for scholastic excellence. Hope that language finds its way into the NEXT contract.

Well, Jesus was honored 3 days after his termination.
Again, I just asked the question. When's the last time a fired employee said "if it helps the company, I support their decision"? This whole saga has been weird. As much as you say it's time to move on (and I agree), it's still in the forefront of everyone's mind. It will be the elephant in the room. I'm just curious if it will be acknowledged that ever coached here or if they edit him out of everything like he never existed.

The whole saga has been weird, but I dont think they will edit him out of the history books. He gave us a natty and a couple of SEC titles. They cant edit him out. There are a lot of other coaches that were far worse than him that havent been edited out. They wont honor him till next year for the 10 anniversary of the 07 team.

You guys just can't wrap it around your heads that 90% of the LSU fans wanted him gone. He didn't have as much support as you think. Just because he gives a classy interview the day after he was fired (truthfully, it was very classy) doesn't mean that he should have been kept as the head football coach. Nobody is saying we should kick the man when he is down, but there is zero chance that the LSU administration plans some kind of nod to Les in the next few games. In the future, there may be time for that, but 6 days after having to fire a man for being so gosh darn stubborn ain't that time.

I think you're missing a part of the story, and it's not the same thing at all, and oh my God I can't believe I'm responding to this.
WTF?

Why? Dude we fired him for underperforming the last 5 years and being dumb not to improve offensive hires. Why in the frick would we honor a fired employee?
