On another note, our talent evaluation leaves something to be desired.
Hopefully that changes with Dunn.

Raph Rhymes can walkon at LSU, but we get guys like Arby, Yocom, etc.
Let someone like Dugas go to Bama.

Hopefully in the future we don't lose guys like Matulis and Zeigler.

we got THREE hits last night, josh .. how did we hit well ? please tell me you aren't one of these "we were making solid contact" people .. save that for little league baseball .. not LSU .. we got 15 hits over three games ... they outhit us 35-15 ! as usual, our pitching held them down somewhat and kept us in games ... but it took a huge break friday afternoon to keep us from being swept by these guys ..

although not letting the players take a victory lap last weekend was maineri's first head scratcher move, fan-wise, i have seen him make ..

That is totally false. Mainieri had nothing to do with that. He even asked the players why they didn't do it. The players said they forgot.

I felt like we actually hit well last night, although it didn't show, we must've hit 10-12 shots right at that LF and CF. It may have looked different on TV.

those were, for the most part, easy, basic baseball outs .. maybe 2 or 3 of them would qualify as "shots" ..

where did you hear this from ? while the players were milling around the dugout after the game, they could clearly see the fans circling the field .. about two or three of them were standing against the wall talking to fans .. the coaches were waving them into the visiting clubhouse .. if the players "forgot", they would have to be blind ..

Don't take what I'm saying about game 3 and carry it over to the first 2 games. We didn't swing the bats well in those games.

No. We don't fire coaches. They can suck like shite all day long and they are fine. He actually did a good job with the purely coaching aspect of his job this year. He took a team that didn't have the talent to do half of what it did, and got the absolute most out of it. Of course, it's on him that the team's talent level sucked as bad as it did, but that's LSU baseball now. We're nothing special. We're just one of a couple hundred mediocre programs who has a better than normal season once in a while. We might just as easily miss the NCAA tournament next year...again.

well, hitting the ball "right at people" is a part of baseball and shouldn't be considered a hitting improvement at this level .. we didn't really challenge them at all or threaten them last night .. hell, they even got better pitching performances than we did .. they chased our headliners and we couldn't chase theirs the last two games .. the SB coaching staff certainly didn't think we were hitting their starter well last night ..

We hit some balls hard last night, but we have a shitty approach at the plate and have the last few years. We don't sit back on offspeed pitches, and we only have a couple of guys that hit to all fields. We watch too many fastballs go by and look like fools way to often on offspeed pitches.

Its ashame we couldn't get a few to drop, I think the crowd was juiced and ready for something to cheer about and we just never got it.

Rhymes foul ball by inches last night, think Katz hit a bomb about 50 feet foul, Hanover put one in the left field corner foul by about 10 feet, after the katz homer Raph mashed a ball at the left fielder, Katz in the 8th lines a sure double at the SS and he makes a helluva catch, and Dozar hits one as far as he can in the 9th, and the CF makes a great catch against the wall.

Just not our day

Mainieri is not going to fire Sanchez, and Alleva is not going to fire Mainieri. LSU DOES NOT FIRE COACHES!!! Period.
