I have to do what is best for LSU in the long haul, How is a school that is a divisional AND recruiting rival winning their 4th title in the last 5 years good for LSU "in the long haul"?

with the BCS formula, about 1/3 of the votes come from people, so it has been to our advantage to have SEC be the STRONGEST conference, thus a 1 loss SEC is valued higher than some undefeated non SEC teams.

Next year that becomes even more important because of this "Committee" which will be choosing the last 4 teams to play for the NC.

so yes, I want SEC to win, as much as I hate Bama

Very tired of Bama at this point. So sick of their fans. I will pull for anyone over them.

I'll ask you this - if Alabama does go on to lose the national championship against Florida State, who becomes the strongest conference?

Yeah, all I got from it is he's saying when the human voters have to decide between an undefeated Louisville team and a 12-1 LSU team for the last playoff spot, they'll say "well Alabama lost to Florida State in the title last year, put Louisville in"...as opposed to looking at each team's schedule from that year.

Not a Vols fan but are you telling me this crap don't bother you?

"Oregon Ducks have built a 38-7 halftime lead on Tennessee. Because this game is apparently no longer in question for the fans, the Ducks' crowd have already moved onto their next potential SEC opponent: top-ranked Alabama.Oregon Ducks supporters are also mocking Tennessee for their conference affiliation: Oregon student section chanting "SEC! SEC! SEC!" at Tennessee's players."

Nah, it doesn't bother me. Look where that's gotten them. Probably back at home on the couch watching the NCG since Stanford kicked their teeth in for the 2nd year in the row.

Rooting for a divisional and recruiting rival to win another title because the fanbase of a school that beat the shite out of a conference basement dweller mocked the SEC chant in the beginning of the season is pretty stupid imo.

All that rooting for the SEC stopped for me when the BCS decided we had to beat Bama twice.

This is dumb. When was the last time there were 4 unbeaten teams that would be in serious contention to be chosen..
a 1 loss SEC team will be in with a 4 team playoff (unless that loss was in the SEC championship game)

That's not a valid argument. There will never be 2 SEC teams in the 4-team playoff. The rest of the nation will not stand for that. It will be conference champions and/or Notre Dame with an elite record.

2011= LSU, Oklahoma St, Wisconsin, Oregon.
2012= Bama, Notre Dame, Stanford, K-State
2013= Bama, Baylor, Ohio State, FSU

and so on. 11-1 Florida doesn't enter the mix, nor does 11-1 Clemson (this season), 11-1 Bama in 2011, etc.

No forking way.

Noles
Baylor Bears
Stanford

Will in no way root for Bama. 3 in a row and 4 out of 5 knowing that we had better talent in at least 2 of those seasons really makes me sick to my stomach.
