I've seen teams run the same play 8+ times in a row with success.

Let's just say that I don't think running the ball 8 times in a row is the best offensive approach in the SEC. And, I certainly think that line of thinking would have been a trainwreck given our OL and FB situation.

But, if you want, you can go ahead and keep thinking that we could have run the ball effectively if we had just tried a little bit more in spite of the statistics.

In short, we disagree.

They are not misleading. The answer to your question is NO, we will not be able to do any of those things. We may be able to pass on you, our ST's will be an advantage over you, and our speed on defense may shut you down, but I still give your team the advantage due to poor coaching, playcalling and game management by our coaches.

I'm from pennsylvania and go to LSU, so I know about both teams. I really don't think our running game will matter. We'll win some and lose many in that department. Our WR's will make big plays against an average secondary as long as it's not in the middle of the field for that linebacker core. Key to game will be stopping royster on D, which I think we can do. Playing against backs like Ingram and Demps will have helped us in that department. Our secondary will not be favorable for Clarks passing game. Yall should have kept Devlin! Watched him play my high school in a playoff game and that kid was sick! UDel has it good now!

I do not understand why you would even bring that argument to the table. When the Big 10 is 5-4 vs the SEC at the Capital One bowl since 2000. You act as though LSU and the SEC has owned the Big 10 like we are a Division II conference.

Also, I do not see how you can consider Penn State a lesser opponent when we finished #3 in the Big 10 same as LSU in the SEC. We are dead even in the polls and the BCS. I am not sure if the is ignorance in not knowing the opponent or only based on how Ohio State has performed in big games recently.

Maybe it is because all computer rankings have the Big 10 as the worst conference among BCS conferences. It's hard to respect a conference when the No. 2 team nearly lost to N. Iowa...

The disrespect toward the Big 10 is derived from far more evidence than simply Ohio State's performances in big OOC games.

Last season the Big 10 was 1-6 in bowl games and looks to be worse as a conference this season.

that said, LSU is playing Penn State and not the Big 10. I'm expecting a good game.

Is that like finishing 3rd in the MEAC?

3rd in Big 10 = 8th in SEC.

I believe Les will burn Ford's redshirt in the bowl game and use him as our secret weapon. Penn State will not have game planned for him.

Need you head examined....

Never happen.

You're going to get mostly negativity in the responses I'm afraid from the disgruntled Tiger masses. Tons of talent that just did not produce this season for any number of valid reasons. And now, the top three rb's all out. I can tell you this. Having watched PSU on numerous occasions this season they may have trouble containing the speed of Holliday and Shepard if they are given 20-25 chances to touch the ball as I hope. Your biggest concern however will be trying to limit the effectiveness of Jefferson. If he is on with his accuracy,(About 75% of the games this season he was)the LSU starting recieving corps(all four will play in the NFL some day) can give the Lions a long day on defense. I expect JoePa to have his ST pop up the kicks to limit TH and even Chad Jones return games. Both returned kicks to the house this season. On defense, the Tigers will be healthy and Chavis has proven to be a good game schemer. Again, outside of OSU and Iowa, doubt you guys have seen the kind of team speed LSU has.

The only real reason for expecting LSU to roll is the recent performance in bowls. Nothing based on this season would cause optimism.

I would think that the tigers will be more dangerous. The soph running back is good and Trindon is dynamite the more touches he gets which in the past has been far few.

Against Arkansas the LSU running game improved after what looks like they used Trindon Holliday more.

This is a little misleading since we stopped using Trindon once we realized he was having a great game.

No, hasn't been done all year. And the one game where Holliday's speed is too much for the defense, we bench him.

That is terrible. Shepard will get 3 carries in the 1st quarter, keep a few drives going then you'll forget he is on the team.

quote:

So any information I have that is incorrect I am sorry for.

Nah you're pretty much spot on. We do too much on offense, we stop doing what's working besides making the defense stop it. And we try things that haven't worked all year. We also discovered screen passes and using Holliday effectively the last two games of the year.

However this is a bowl game, Miles is a completley different coach during a bowl game.

Our strategy worked! Better than it did in 2007 against KY when we benched Scott.
But...

this is the only cause for optimism. Hopefully this continues.

3rd in Big 10 = 8th in SEC.

Despite all the NCAA stats, the fact remains that the B10 champion LOST BIG AT HOME to the 5th best team in the Pac 10.

That stat speaks volumes for where the B10 is as a conference today. Future years, who knows?

I do expect a very close, competitive game with PSU, and would feel better about the Tigers were CScott able to play & run like he did in the Chicken Bowl last year.
