It’s not 13 pages of good conversation I can assure you that.

People don't like a hard truth.

But they need it at times.

You asked a question you apparently didn’t know the answer to. Then spent 14 pages giving your opinion. How is that bringing truth?

You set up a thread to trigger an argument. No more nothing less.

Like you said, people don’t like the truth. You’re the people.

I never got a good answer. That’s just a fact.

Which exposed the realities of Jays roster.

People who like P&G winning games didn’t like the revelation and started to aimlessly clap back.

And here we are, 14 pages later. Still no answers.

I haven't posted much in here but why do you keep sucking off Mainieri and Cain? It's weird.

Nah I even said Paul was finished after 2019 (if Covid didn’t happen, Paul’s step down was happening after 2020 imo. He was saved by China because that team wasn’t going anywhere)

As for Cain, you can’t deny he’s out recruited Jay since they both got new jobs. Further, Jay won with many of Cains recruits (Tre, Dylan, Beloso, Trav et al)

The other players he won with were simply taking Richard Lipseys money and buying players when it become legal and LSU was the highest bidder in the space at the time.

I’ve seen very little in the way of development since Jays arrived in BR. That’s just reality

Why are you comparing Jay to Cain?

Why are you discounting the roster construction that was left in shambles when Cain was leader of recruiting from 2017-2021?

Maybe. But Cain has done more since 2021. Jay won with his players and Cain has proven to eval and nab better high school players since

I'm not arguing Cain is doing a great job at a young age but he's not head coach material right now

that’s not true.

you just only focus on the players who haven’t developed.

Beloso was a better hitter in 2023 than he ever was and that’s a massive jump. Beloso
himself has said Jay reworked his entire swing.

Jared Jones has developed. He Hit more HR this year while walking more and striking out 25% of his plate appearance compared to last year where he struck out 34% of his plate appearances. Thats development.

Braswell had his best year by far at the plate.

Milazzo went from a sub .200 hitter for 3 years to hitting .267 on the season.

Milam looked better as the season progressed.

Last year Joebert made a massive leave in play at the plate.

And I know you don’t want to give credit for Crews improving each year he played for Jay, or anything like that, so I didnt even include him.

He's already said Jones didn't develop because his average went from .302 to .301.

Which on a rate basis turns out to be about an 8th of a hit.

He discounts the lower K rate, the higher BB rate, the higher OBP and SLG, all because he didn't get one additional hit over the course of the entire season.

Keep in mind, he doubled his PAs against the very top tier competition year over year. But that one hit is why he didn't develop.

Wow low benchmark

You’re basically pointing out a lot of bad hitters and saying they got less bad

Jones was better this year but his numbers were basically the same. Not huge improvement, maybe a little less chase

Beloso had production when not injured. He also lost too much weight and had to work through that to regain his power

what? Who did i point out who ended up “less bad”

Joebert went for a .246/.354/.578 hitter to a .301/.409//.598 hitter. that’s a significant improvement and he wasn’t a bad hitter.

Beloso hit .226/.347/.354 in 51 games in 21 as a junior. so 3 years into college and hi .324/.462/.622 his last year.

Jones made big improvements in Ob% and Slugging and his SO/PA drastically reduced.

The biggest difference has been Ob% the 2021 Team had an OB% of .361. It was .404 the next year. Even this past year it was .397.

That's why I'm confused when you completely discount Cain's recruiting from 2017 to 2021.

it’s weird all these kids were Cain’s guys and then they hired a completely different coach to be HC and they all stayed instead of following cain.

Smith, Walker, Watson etc were good freshmen in '17

18 was a bust

Dugas, Henry, Hill, Beloso were solid in that '19 class

'20 was bad in Covid, Doughty only good player. Worth noting that the public opinion of Mainieri was waning after 2019

But '21 class was one of LSU's better classes in memory, with Dylan, Tre, Floyd etc. That class was the nucleus to the '23 natty team

Cain wasn't responsible for most of 2017-2018 high school classes. We can discount those years for conversation sake and just focus on the 2019, 2020, and 2021 high school classes. That was the same time period that LSU routinely missed on shortstops with no backup plan as well as the only time period LSU did not have a single left hander on the pitching staff who could pitch. That 2020 offense might have gone down as one of the worst ever. He was also responsible for LSU having an absolutely terrible 2022 pitching staff.

Cain had a great 2020 high school class (Crews/Morgan/Floyd/Thompson) but lets not act like that core was the only reason Johnson won a title.

You're not looking at the whole picture...don't do that.
